Morning take: Matthews has been a baffling case in Miami. He has good physical tools and talent, but his inconsistency drives coaches wild and impacts playing time.
  • Dave Hyde of the Sun Sentinel details former Dolphins fullback Rob Konrad’s incredible swim to shore.
Morning take: Konrad says he swam for 16 hours, which is amazing. Konrad says he’s fortunate to be alive.
Morning take: Tannehill set new career highs in passing yards (4,045), touchdowns (27) and passer rating (92.8). It was a good step in the right direction.
Morning take: The Mike Tannenbaum hire was the big news. Otherwise, it’s been quiet. Things are sure to pick up in the next few weeks and months, though.

Word on the street is that Coyle is staying.

As much as I hated watching our run D collapse after the Denver game, I'm not sure who or what deserves the blame for that. Some reports are saying that Coyle's D is too "complicated and that he brings like 25-30 defensive plays to games. Most DCs only bring like 10-15.

NO use in bringing in new blood if you know you're most likely to fire Philbin next year. No one worth their salt is gonna come onboard on a sinking ship

They talking about giving tanny an 100 mill extension :shaq2:
15 mill a year is nothing though

I REALLY don't know why you guys are so hard on the kid.

he's done some pretty impressive things and he is continually getting better.

he's NOT mediocre, he's definitely above average and close to top ten RIGHT NOW

Over 4000 yards
27/12
over 300 yards running(and that was mostly in the second half of the season)

naw, I don't think he's going.
not worth it really.

but getting rid of Hartline should be a no brainer though.

Im sure Hartline is gone because of cap. But it will look bad for them to keep a guy who was perceived as to have quit on his team. If you noticed Hickey declined to comment on wether Wallace was coming back. Again, i really like the guy but he's not the type of WR we need for our short passing game.

huh? Wallace was great this year in the short passing game.
his comebacks and short outs were great and kept many drives alive. infact his short route running virtually made Hartline expendable.

Only way Wallace is gone is if we make a trade, and I don't think too many others will take him or give us what we want in return. He's actually a really good receiver, he just wasn't what we expected from him.
he's more than the one trick pony we thought he was, but he is NOT an endzone threat really. We need a big bodied receiver for that and that will compliment Wallace and LAndry PERFECTLY.

Dont get it twisted I like the guy. I didnt at first but he showed me some things his second year here. Mainly i really liked the way he FOUGHT for balls this past season whereas the first year dude made very little effort to get the ball. This year he got more physical and bodied some defensive backs for the ball and thats huge considering he's tiny.

BUT with what happened in the last game i think th coaching staff will drop him. Im ready and wish we'd let go of Philbin but it wont happen before this coming season and i simply dont see how the same coaching staff whom he has a bad relationship with keep him around. Especially since Philbin does not report to Hickey

can't drop him, his cap hit is almost 10 million. Not really worth it.
if we gotta pay it all might as well keep him around.

I think what happened in the last game was blown way out of proportion.

He'll be here next year. and unfortunately so will Philbin.
But I think what happened is a non issue at this point.

if they can trade him for something good then I'll take it. But I would rather keep him another year and play it out,. get rid of Hartline, resign clay, and draft a big body and we'll be alright on that side of the ball.
Sign a guy like Gore to go with miller and This offense would be hard to stop
