Damn ...Stat speaks on Em not fukking with him:
But pissing off the biggest rapper (at the time) also will get you in the doghouse fast and Stat admits to doing just that with Marshall Mathers.

“My album would have came out but I fukked up,” he said, revisiting the story. “There was a song called ‘Dance On It’. Em wrote the chorus and Em wanted me to say the chorus. I thought it was not good. If I would have said, ‘Yeah, that’s it! That’s the one we going with!’ I would’ve got my album out. But I tried to be on some ‘Nah, I don’t like that; that ain’t a hit.’ I was really arguing with the top-selling rapper of all-time on what a fukkin’ hit was. What a dummy idiot I was!”

He continued, “My exact quote was: ‘I’ll put it out if you stay on the hook’ and then I said, ‘Give me a million dollars and I’ll put it out.’ And when I said that, me and Eminem went like this [divides hands]. It was a wrap! He was mad as shyt! And Dre was like, ‘Yo, you made him mad.’ And then like the next day, I like apologized with tears in my eyes. Because I’m watching my fukkin’ career go down the drain.”

On Compton album:

“shyt was wack. I love Dre to death but it was wack,” Stat told Trent Clark, Justin Hunte, Jake Rohn and Marcel Williams. “This how this shyt work is how music goes, this is how you know your shyt [is] good. 2-3 months after it come out.” He continued, “It’s not that it wasn’t put together quality wise, it’s not that it wasn’t quality beats and shyt like that, it just didn’t capture the attention of the world. The only reason it got where it was was because the movie was so phenomenal. And that’s no diss. People think if you don’t like something you’re dissing it. I love Dre. He’s my everything. I helped him [with the project] but that don’t mean it’s the shyt just cause I helped, you know what I’m saying, WE fukked up!”
:pachaha:

Fans of other genres appreciate the effort of their legends. Dre dropped an album and it was called trash Day one by yall. Other legends looking around like :mjcry: lol
Its true.. But other genres are just as bad as far as stealing from each other. Lol but yea your right:hhh:

Lots of jewels. Stat is a good dude, real fun to talk and argue with. A major key to me is the team aspect. It's not a coincidence that the three dudes winning the most by far have great teams. Drake, Cole, Kendrick. Just about everyone who is a tier or two behind them is struggling with this. Stat brought up Meek and it's so obvious with him. Dude can rap, he had the swag, the image etc. But he doesn't have a project that doesn't just feel like a collection of random songs. Only thing that any thoughts goes into is the intro, which is kinda become a gimmick.

Who in his camp can tell him nah breh this isn't the way. Nobody told him not to release that wack poorly mastered/mixed diss track. Which was so bad nobody remembers it; can barely find it online due to the WWE shutting it down due to the Undertaker sample. There was no thought process behind it.

Meek got some dope in-house producers but that's it. His business isn't in order and he fukked up the Nicki relationship so no more big tours....smh.

So the album was well put together, had dope beats, but because it didn't capture the attention of the world, it's wack?

No single, no video, and it was announced like one week before it dropped, but it was still supposed to capture the attention of the world.

No you are exact right. But Compton is also hella wack too. I was just using Aftermath as an example. Dre put out plenty classics but I'm just being real about those two albums.

One thing i would admit is that Compton would've been better if those Detox tracks never leaked

I got Compton back in rotation now, and this album really won't bad. You know what I think? I think some of us had just grown accustom to all of this bullshyt that's out there now; so when an actual ALBUM like Compton comes along, we almost don't even know how to interpret it because it's been so long since we heard some an actual ALBUM of songs with great mixing, mastering, production and lyrics.

Dre had a who's who of talented motherfukkers on this shyt; Kendrick, Anderson Paak, King Mez, Jon Connor, Marsha, and so on and we ain't even realize the album he put together cause we in the era of a "hot song" for a second and then move on to the next bullshyt.

Dre came back and gave us an album to digest and dissect and we overlooked that shyt. :francis:
