I broke my foot in a few places hooping like 7-8 years ago and I had to have surgery and they put some screws in my foot. I honestly don’t feel them at all. They said I might have sensitivity during cold weather but I never had that problem.

I didnt tear them in the traditional sense of like sports related. I've had them lengthened, which is them cutting them and stretching them out. Then casted for 2-3 months. I was born with clubbed feet so I had terrible foot/Achilles problems my whole life. I don't even like typing the word, and I never say it loud. It always brings a negative reaction. I refer to it as "The A word."

I have to ice mine daily, any advice?

Nothing much different than that man. I got pat Ewing knees Achilles. So I make sure I'm in comfortable shoes (asics gel nimbus) and I've found soaking them in hot water to be the best thing for me. Loosens them up and they're not so stiff. Helps with my ankles as well. Every part of my feet needs help.

When i stated there 5 different types of surgeries, that's just the speedbridge type of surgeries. Who knows how many there are out there? Looks hella painful any way you get it.

Got ankle fusion surgery 2 yrs. ago. 5 incisions; 4 screws.
Screws through both sides of foot, heel & top (to realign the bone to my big toe). Also took a muscle from the side of my leg to put in my foot. Still have occasional pain but it's more due to that leg being slightly shorter (tend to put more weight on that side) plus work (warehouse job; sudden death of moms has delayed my plans to finally leave).
My foot is definitely stronger than before so I don't regret the surgery but I also know it wasn't my last surgery of any kind.

I wonder do athletes take PRP injections or stem cell therapy to encourage healing.

There's a place in Colombia called bioxcellerator where a lot of MMA fighters, Pro Wrestlers, and some NFL players go to. I don't know what the measurement is called, but in the US you are limited to 2 million count stem cell treatments due to FDA regulations, while in Colombia you can get 200 million count stem cell treatments. I wonder why no NBA players have tried it.

that's honestly way more basic than I was expecting
but the simplicity is also probably why it's a long recovery since the tissue itself will be doing the heavy lifting
