he isn't mvp tier without the right pieces around him
he's still a goat tier sniper and a big time bucket getter but not on the absolute top shelf all time

let's not also fail to take into account the way real gamebreakers set the stage for his success
if rule changes weren't made to keep cats from getting abused physically or dominated in 1v1 situations
a player without top shelf strength speed is not dominating

the finesse era isn't possible without the real one man wrecking crews of the past forcing changes

I was talking about regular season MVP.

Funny that after all these receipts the players still voted for him over Curry?
:jbhmm:

Kinda contradicts Gil's post that they woulda had a change of heart. Especially seeing how his horrible play was dating back to 2013, eh?:patrice:
Not at all, because not only have his playoff performances gradually become worse, but the benefit of the doubt that players would've given him would've slowly morphed into actual doubt. Same goes for this board, hell, you even have some Rockets fans who've given up on him.

Bird was dominate and he didn't have any top shelf shyt. Hakeem wasn't the strongest or fastest center of his era.

Y'all cats don't understand what being a GOAT-tier shooter and having the ability to stretch defenses like Curry means.

Curry would be dominant in any era. I've seen Mark Price, Reggie Miller, and Abdoul-Rouf drop buckets and y'all acting like the GOAT-shooter and GOAT-tier off the dribble shooter wouldn't be saucing dudes up?

Curry has given buckets to Kawhi in separation but it's impossible for him to be dominant now?

larry legend and dream were at the average or above it in terms of having a pro level frame
both were all time goats in terms of skill

chef would get buckets in any era yes
maybe not at the clip that he does now given the differences in how the game was played then

dominant on the level of 2xmvp and in the conversation for goat in any era on any team¿
that's gas bahahahahaa

In terms of impact/skillset - yes.

I don't put too much stock into MVPs, for the simple reason it's driven by narrative and not necessarily who is the best player during the season. Curry breaks the definition of a superstar, which you have a hard time dealing with because you're black and white with what a player needs to be physically in order to be one. Which is why you're constantly in juelzsantangif mode trying to explain something which doesn't exist in the world you view the game.

every player in history is a record setting 3ball shooter with top 5 scoring potential¿
maybe something like kyrie or dame with a better ratchet on em

You're saying if Curry didn't have the right personnel, coaching and environment, that he wouldn't get far. I'm telling you the same applies to every single star that's played this game. The difference between players who're in top-10 OAT conversations and players who're just all-time greats are their situations.

Basketball is just like the game of life.
