Like I said, players and the basketball public said the EXACT same things during MJ's era. If you want to be ignorant and look through the same revisionist, back-in-my-day, lens that they did, that's on you.
Regardless of the rules and no one bring up zone defense is apart of the game I'd argue before this year the defense was just as good. Hell look at all the clips of lame defense of jordans era. Honestly the average player in the league is just better than they used to be. There is a reason skill-less tall dudes can't make the league anymore. Hell you can be skilled now but if you are too slow footed that's a rap too. Jordan himself used to only be able to go one way on the court he had to learn to use his left.. Except he's not right. If both teams had their full complement of players, all healthy, Warriors win in 2016. Just like they would've done/did in 2015.
