You think no-one has tried that? In fact Cleveland did that most of the finals last year.
It worked to mixed results. Thing is Curry just drags the 2 defenders out to 40 feet and just passed the Draymond who than is playing 4 on 3.
I think if you have bigs who can move switching has been the best strategy so far

One thing I don't see is 7 footers guarding Steph Curry on the perimeter. That's what I'm talking about. But unfortunately not every team in the league is this dedicated to defending.

I recommend that you watch Billy Donovan's press conference. It is easy to think that us amateur basketball watchers are more knowledgeable than the people who do it for a living but we are not.

So you think Barnes, Iggy, Livingston, Green, Barbosa and Ian Clark can knock down 3's at the same clip that Steph Curry can? I'm betting they won't. Will they hit some yes will they be less consistent than Steph Curry I'm betting they will. I'm just tired of seeing 7 footers trying to guard Curry on the perimeter. I can't believe this is the strategy that's being used to defend a PG with that shooting and handling ability.
Wide open? Yes. They have They are and they will. They've done it all year and the fact that you don't see it is the reason you're not an nba coach

The Cavs strategy of blitzing Curry worked in the Finals because Klay and Green shyt the bed (Green ended up getting it together in the last few games). So their motion offense got stale if Klay couldn't hit shots, and the pick and roll was the only play they trusted. It was easier to blitz Curry if you knew what was coming each time down and nobody else is hitting shots.

So if you want to neutralize Curry a little bit, you have to take Klay out the game imo.

Which poses the big question, how do you stop klay while trying to keep curry from breaking down your defense at the same time? all it takes is a few stops on the defensive end by GS, they push it up the floor, next thing you know Klay hits 3 straight 3's ina row. you look up at the end of the quarter and Klay has 15+ points in the quarter. :beli:

I would take my chances of the role players taking some open threes some contested depending on your rotation or driving the lane before I'd let Steph attempt any shot.

I never said that I was an NBA coach but they don't seem to be doing that good of a job either. So Curry playing 1 on 1 vs 7 footers is the best strategy to defend him? It's like most teams concede the switch don't think to trap or try to fight over the top. They just let the best shooter and ball handler go 1 on 1 with a 7 footer.

cavs were trapping warriors last year which got them the series lead until warriors cracked the code. it won't be a shock this year though.

You have to be aware on defense. Like the bigs guarding Steph or Klay if the do happen to miss and GSW gets the off. rebound the bigs don't get back to Steph or Klay at the 3 point line becuz they're not used to guarding out there then you got the Splash Bros taking open threes. Where as a guard should stay attached to them at all times and definitely find them in any loose ball situation.

No there is no "other way" to defend him. You can't defend him. :mjlol: There's a reason no one has figured him out in 2 years. There's a reason the Warriors broke the 72 win record. You CAN'T defend him yourself. Your only hope is for him to go cold and miss shots like he did in the first several games of the 2015 Finals and the WCF this year. But the thing is he won't go cold for an entire series, a few games maybe but not an entire series because he'll eventually find his shot and when he does you're fukked. :mjlol:

Play him tight? Best handles in the league so he'll blow by you and either dish to an open shooter or finish at the rim, which he's statistically the best finisher at the rim in the league.

Double team off the pick? He'll find Draymond who will 9 times out of 10 make the right decision in the 4 on 3 situation.

Deny him? They'll just screen you to death until he gets open.

Oh and by some chance he's off, you have to deal with that other Top 5 shooter of all time in Klay Thompson. :mjlol: If either one of them is on and in the zone you're at their mercy. :russ:

Just give it up. If pro NBA coaches that dedicate their lives to this shyt can't figure him out then no one on the Coli is. :bryan:

switching is the best option. if hes going to make step back 3s over 7 footers all game you have to just tip your hat to them.

trapping only leads to layups and wide open 3s. the 3ball saves their asses time and time again. whoever is going to beat them is going to have to make some of their own.

Not true. But that's the logic that causes fukk ups. "It it worked I would've thought of it already, I'm all knowing.
