Johnny Flynn was a way better athlete and played in a tougher conference. Scouts thought he was a more creative passer and that he actually had the physical frame to survive in the league.

Hardwork really don't mean that much either... Gerald Henderson came into the league with some of the craziest workout regimens anyone's ever seen from rookie. Dude been in the league for years now and is still terrified of the 3pt line. Jamal Crawford didn't take offseason work outs seriously until like 2 years ago - he'd been one of the top 10 SGs in the league that entire time. Hardwork doesn't just mean you'll be better. It ain't that simple. shyt, Dwight spent all that time with Kareem, Hakeem, and Ewing and couldn't drop step off a porch if he tried.

Yes he was a better athlete...nikka there are plenty of people that are better athletes than curry. Curry can barely dunk at 6'3 and has a short wingspan.

Those scouts are idiots then and they should all be fired. Boehiem even said that Flynn would have never got drafted it if wasn't for the tourney run. Flynn was on 0 mock drafts before march madness.

YES HARDWORK MEANS ALOT :mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown::mindblown: wtf are you even saying.

nikka Dwight doesn't work hard at all. He refuses to work on his FT all summer. Just cuz he posts 3 or 4 workout videos with hakeem doesn't mean he actually learns anything. Came in the game with 0 post moves and shooting below 50% a decade later and nothing has changed but 10 extra kids :rudy:

Chris Webber been called guys like him and Deandre out because they refuse to work on they FT...Chris Webber has the NBA record of improved FT from one season to another. nikka went from 45ish to 76% in one year. He already told the secret...he locked himself in the damn gym and shot FT everyday morning and night for an entire summer with his trainer. shyt isn't hard. Dwight doesn't work hard at ALL on FT and neither does Deandre. This nikkas be laughing in warm ups airballing FT's like shyt is really funny :martin: I'm so glad TNT shows us this shyt during the game. DJ ain't worked hard at all.

Y'all nikkas must have never played the game at a high level...I can tell easily

Hardwork is overrated. Just ask Shaq

There's plenty of hall of fame players that were :russell: to practice. Hell, James Harden was #2 in MVP voting and he literally shows up to playoff games hungover.

Hardwork is a fantasy. That if you work hard enough, you can be the best. Its not true breh :usure: Does it help? Absolutely. Some people are gifted, some others... it doesn't matter what you do. Also, you're talking out your ass about Deandre. He's also a perfect example of practice not translating to games.

People aren't RPG characters. You can't just slap points into an ability with enough time in the gym and 'get better'. Mental walls of all kinds are in the way.

Also, regarding Steph and Flynn... Flynn was in the McDonalds All-American Game, Roundball Classic, and the Hoop Summit game. Part of the silver medal USA Team at the U19 World Championships in 2007. You're not informed. :comeon:

If Steph weren't in the NBA he'd be on the PGA tour, dude is a very good golfer considering it gets his spare time, he's exceptional at repeating motions which is why he can shoot the way he does. We're talking about the dude with the best jumpshot of all time, and an absolutely elite handle, which is what almost every shooter lacks. He has the jumpshot you'd see from a "stand in the corner" specialist 3 point shooter, paired up with the ability to create off the dribble, which is not something that can be emulated.

:myman:

Disclaimer: Obviously I have a biased opinion of Steph...

But seriously, if you're a fan of basketball, how can you not appreciate what Steph is doing?

What a time to be alive...

:whew:

naw you took it to far. i would agree if this was for james harden(and his fake foul having self). but not for curry. curry would destroy you at the rucker. i WISH curry would step on an outside court and make you look silly.

see the point you're missing is this. curry has more handles than ...ummm. anyone in the world. or at worse the same as. there isnt a single man on this earth that can handle the ball like this man while also using it to get free and hit shots.

he would have some dude like you trying to fight him after he made you look stupid 3 times in a row.
you body up on him being a non nba player if ya wont to. and see dont he shake, shake, shimmy shake, step in. wooooops. step out. FOR THREEEEE

call the paramedics his ankles are broken.

..
proves my point right here. watch how the guy is defendin curry, even in a practice. he's pushing his shoulders(no one even does that in a real game even on the streets). and watch how he finds openings. the same would happen to you, me or any other poor soul trying to guard this assassin.

stop it

he's clearly being guarded by your average mortal in that vid
of course he can do that to somebody he's a superior athlete to

but to someone significantly quicker stronger than him with a longer reach¿

say 1v1 against kyrie or jwall a guard like drose was when healthy or even retired dudes like baron davis or stevie franchise at their peak¿

i just don't imagine him doing the same things then

nikka save the duck tales :duck::neeeeeeww: ole put on 50lbs in a year of straight muscle

Jimmy Butler improved cuz he locked his ass in the Gym all summer and took away his internet, tv. It's all about working hard. Nobody has practice more 3's than steph.

Nobody thought Johnny Flynn had a higher ceiling. Johnny went so high because scouts get caught up in NCAA hype and he had a triple OT run with boehiem.

Nah breh, now lets not act like Johnny Flynn wasn't nice, that nikka only out the league because his body broke down on him,he was on his way,his rookie year was very solid and he was a beast at Syracuse

you cant mimic. just like 6'6 guards with high athleticism and length couldnt be kobe. if they could, tell us why Derozan isnt prime kobe yet?

kobe and steph are the same more or less. their superiority is not based on size, or athleticism. its their skill level. their skills are above their peers which are above every elses in the world.

kobe has impeccable foot work for anyone on the court let alone a guard.

same story with curry. IMpeccable footwork. i noticed this when he was still in college.

but perhaps some of that is God given. perhaps the agility and balance and hand eye coordination. is god given as well then practiced. these type of elite players know exactly where to step and when to step in certain directions to maintain balance and to throw the defender off balance.

I agree with you but Steph's skill set is way easier to mimic than Kobe's. If you're already guard height and have handles, you're at a good starting point. Steph took LOTS of practice to get where he is. Plus he was just one miscue away from being a forgotten memory. His shot was always butter but he's always had coaches that let him gun it from 4 feet beyond the arc. My only point is that if an upcoming guard is young enough they can definitely work on having a quicker release and shooting the ball off dribble. I think some of you guys underestimate how HARD Steph worked on his game.

wow....you just exposed yourself so hard...deandre shoots 100 ft after practice. You do know that takes 20mins. Deandre just doesn't work hard enough. Neither does dwight. Stop.

Austin Rivers was the #1 player in the entire world in HS.....Stop the Flynn HS talk. Boehiem said flynn only went because of the Tourny. Stop.

You've never played the game. I can tell. No more point going back and forth. shyt is like Chuck and Daryl Morey. You have no idea what you are talking about.

he worked like a madman. BUt his dad is a known hired gun in his best days. Its in their genes. so even his shooting is truly God given as well. but also worked on to perfect it.

if your father was a top tier nba gun in his best day. you dont think he would give you nba talks about shooting, get you nba help with your shooting, give you nba regimens for your shooting? of course he would. which is another reason another steph curry isnt coming along an time soon.
