i agree they didnt deserve this win but without steph you gotta take every win you can get. this team is actually better then last year, they would of lost this game.

Nice to get a W to start a road trip. Game was ugly as slo mo jumper but I'll take it.
I saw a 4 guard lineup with Dray at the 5 for way too long. Kerr can't help himself.
Rim protecting Trace collecting dust on the bench.
No one leaves the arena without making 100 free throws.

They took a 71-43 lead at the half with that lineup (TJD didnt see the floor in the 2nd quarter). It worked. When TJD reentered to start the 3rd quarter, the Rockets outscored GS up until he got subbed out midway through. It wasn't like they were having success with him and abandoned it. Which by that point, the momentum had swung completely in Houston's favor. The shooting variance flipped and Houston was eating off it.
With Eason and Jabari bombing 3s, they didn't have much choice but to have Dray at the 5. TJD can't defend behind the arc.
And you can't really have Wiggins, Kuminga, Draymond and TJD out there often because there simply isn't the spacing. Only way you can play Kuminga and/or Wiggins for extensive periods when there's no Steph is to have Dray at the 5. They really struggled for shot creation in the second half, and it would've made matters worse if they played TJD any longer than they did.
When you're up 20+ on the road. It's time to pound the ground game.

I saw Eason feasting at the cup way more than draining 3s. Oboards, putback dunks.
Loon and Slo mo are solid vets, but they lack the shot-blocking, alley-oop, vertical intimidation, and overall ENERGY.
If we could've matched their energy in the 3rd, there would be no need for shot creation.
