He isn't a score-first point guard in an era dominated by those types and admittedly does have games where he disappears.

Today's NBA talking heads seem to define superstar as someone who can go out and get you 40+ on any given night. That's not Haliburton's game.

But as @FAH1223 said... Indiana would be lost without him.

A score first point guard and a pass first point guard have both never won titles. This shyt is going to be historic either way :dead:

People are so used to scoring pgs. That they forgot how a real traditional pg is supposed to play.

Haliburton is the prototype, modern day true point.

He’s got vision, passing, shooting , scoring , length etc.

This postseason, He’s figured out when to pass and when to take over with his scoring. Good to see his development

Superstar extends beyond your play on the court. Superstar me as people who don't even watch the sport know who you are. Think Steph and LeBron.

SGA is not, Haliburton is not, Jokic is not, etc..... Those players are stars but not Superstars.
So the best player in the league isn't a superstar?

I don't think there's any hard and fast rule for what constitutes a superstar, especially in today's league where stardom is a fluid concept. Someone like Jokic isn't a recognized name/face in the general public, but he's without a shadow of a doubt a superstar in every sense of the word, on the court. Any player that seperates themselves from your typical star is one.
Is it a stretch to say that Haliburton impacts the game similar to Steve Nash?
Someone said the other day that he's basically a "new age Nash", and that's pretty much the perfect description of him.

I agree

Hailburton probably will get those opportunities now though.

He seems to have a good personality

That WWE skit he did with Jalen Brunson was incredible:russ:

What was Steph? And wouldn't Isiah qualify as a pass first PG?
Steph ain't no point guard b( no disrespect) and I guess ignoring the stats of Kareem you could say Magic lead a team as pass first. But I be meaning like running pick and roll like today's game when it was more post oriented back in the day (which I was I excluded Steph)

But I could be wrong not willing to die on the hill :pachaha:

Idk why folks keep giving this clown the time of day. He doesn't watch hoops and says the dumbest shyt that comes to his mind just for ratings & clicks. Worse than that, he knows he could actually analyze the game, break down the finer points and then reach a reasonable conclusion and talking point but it's easier to be a buffoon.

I disagree. Sometimes, your play and accomplishments supercede whatever the “box office” may show. Jokic is a superstar (3x MVP and champion; many regard him as the best player in the NBA). SGA is entering that territory (3 straight 30ppg seasons, 2x #1 seed, MVP on the verge of the Finals). Haliburton is not there yet.

TYRONE GA!

Steph is def a scoring PG, but he doesn't have to have the ball in his hands dribble dribbling all the time to do so.

And Zeke was more traditional, but only took over when he had to.

2 HUGE outliers in NBA History esp for their size. Not the norm.

THE CASUAL AMERICAN DOESNT
GIVE 2 shytS ABOUT JOKER NOR SGA.

THEY'RE NOT SUPERSTARS.

YOU GOTTA CROSSOVER
TO BE A SUPERSTAR.

ITS LIKE COMPARING
MIKE TROUT TO KEN GRIFFEY.

BOTH GREAT PLAYERS BUT
ONLY ONE WAS A SUPERSTAR
