Everybody knows First Take is Skip's show. He's a subpar sports analyst, but his attention whore trolling entertainment is infectious. SAS has been hijacking the spotlight from him more and more recently by talking over him the whole time, saying way more than him, and doing his fake ass amateur political activist/social scientist/life mentor routine.
This should be a humbling wake up call for him because he's feeling himself way too much and thinking he's an actual serious person people should listen to about important issues. They could replace him with almost anybody on the network, or in the sports media biz and not see a downward tick in ratings.
Maybe now he'll realize he's a fukking clown...probably not.

I agree with everything except the bolded. Like you stated, SAS has stepped into his own the past few years, hell, he's even got a beef jerky commercial on national television now. He's an important part of the show -- and you know how much it sucks when the replacements are in. They would need another strong-minded, loud, overly opinionated dude to match what Skip brings to the table.
If this were two years ago, sure, SAS brought very little to the show and wasn't a household name.
But now he's got more Twitter followers than Skip
