Harden could have opted out after next season and there was essentially no where else the team to go as they gave up assets to trade for Westbrook. Even Morey stepping down should have told dude what was going to happen.
Even if Harden never demanded a trade earlier in the season and did what he did, the clock was going to start ticking the moment he turned down an extension. The same case that has happened with other star players previously who have done so.

If he wants to be a great coach he should look at this as a challenge. Forget the wins and loses and concentrate on strategy and improvement. I Know black coaches get fired to early but his situation might be an exception. The Rockets are tanking and owner is cheap as fukk there are no plans to hire another coach anytime soon. Silas has at least 3 years and many lotto balls to showcase his coaching ability and if I doesn't workout there somebody else might come calling.

Losing 20 straight games is a fireable offense no matter who he is. His one saving grace might be the fact that is owner is a brokie. Hopefully Silas chooses his next job better than he did this one.

I believe he knew Harden was gonna get moved but I’m pretty sure he expected to get a nice return for him instead of the garbage they got from Brooklyn. You trade a talent like Harden and you get crap 1st round picks in return and Oladipo who’s about to walk this summer instead of guys like Caris Lavert and Jarrett Allen smh.
That’s the thing tho. Silas ain’t getting another HC job if he loses this one.

This. I said the other day they’ll keep him around for like 3 years and he’s gonna get tossed to the bushes for a white coach and he’ll be back to being an assistant.
Maaan get this bs outta here. A real coach doesn't care what the personnel is, the challenge is to get the best out of what you have. We talk all this stuff about black coaches not getting a chance at a head coaching job and now we wanna act like it's a punishment to be the coach of a losing team. No sir, that's the job you said you was ready for. Now go out and do something with it. There's dozens of (black) coaches out there that would kill to have the opportunity to prove something with the personnel the Rockets have now.

People are forgetting the fact that dude 48, so he has another 10-20+ years to get another HC position if this one falls though. Although I must be honest, his sulking and crying in that press conference might explain why he’s never gotten a HC job previously.
You can’t display that type of mood publicly regardless of how bad you are.

His attitude and demeanor shows me exactly why it’s been hard for him to get a HC prior. That attitude and mentality alone will make him one and done especially there’s going to lots of losses in a rebuild.
