The real answer:

5. I’m failing to account for some significant variable or another.

When the biggest artist in the world drops a highly anticipated album and it's EXCLUSIVELY available in one place, people flock to that one place to check for it. I know several people who signed up for a free trial to hear that shyt the day it was available. This happened everywhere, across the country, and across the world.

Thank about the quick numbers surge Kanye caused with Tidal, which is a standalone weird program nobody was really fukking with. EVERYONE fukks with Apple. Anyone with an iPhone is 2 clicks away from signing up.

Drake haters are just as bad as Republicans trying to come up with secret schemes to prove Hilary Clinton is a terrorist robot :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

I guess if you ignore that the statistically anomoly of Apple Music providing over half of Drake streams while only having 15 million subscribers compared to the 100 million subscribers on Apple, you might believe that the author never questioned the integrity of the Apple numbers.
He questioned them but couldn't prove anything. He was just speculating and couldn't find the facts to conclude anything about fudged numbers. A whole lotta huffing and puffing for 90% of that long ass article:whew: that came to a conclusion that is shortsighted at best, pointless at worst. streaming is still in its infant stages. We waiting to see where it will end up ultimately.

If he gave us proof of fudged numbers then I would have been :ohhh: instead of :martin:

A big part of Budden's rant on his podcast had to do with the streaming services pulling the okey doke on nikkas (with Drake being a catalyst) with these inflated numbers. That was the main convo before the "beef" took off.

Rape N U Records :whoo:

Nah I listen to his podcast weekly when he do it he never said nothing about numbers he always said streaming was dope only had a problem with the streaming wars like Frank Ocean album being a Apple Music exclusive for a few weeks, but if you got some receipts where he said Drake numbers are fake I'm calling
:duck: Otherwise

If I can use a proxy browser to make it look like I'm posting from Belgium what makes you think Mr. Tent Camp/Apple endorsement guy can't get a server room together to generate thousands of proxy plays from various IP addresses. It would be a very simple program

Then you have your publicist plant some articles like this

  • Views Is This Year’s Purple Rain” [Slate]
  • “Drake Is Now Officially As Popular As Michael Jackson Was During Thriller” [Vulture]
  • “Drake’s Views Is Already One Of The Biggest Hip-Hop Albums Of All Time” [Forbes]
this

If you can't see the statistical improbability of the stream rates for Views, then inferring from that the numbers are highly questionable, there is nothing to really talk about.

That caping though.

Also, Apple could have 100 million subscribers, Spotify 100 million, and Tidal 3 million. I'd still rather be tidal. Anyone fixated on huge difference in members missed the whole point of why tidal exists. Its precisely to be independent of 2 tech behemoths that would ultimately be ya masters

If you read the article you would realize most of the media just ignored the claim out right and continued to claim Beiber had the record that Drake broke.
When you have a userbase of 3 million, throwing 100 mil streams in a weak is so ridiculous no one takes you serious and to save the game for everyone else, peole just ignore it.
I read some of it but I could really careless about the details because none of that puts food on my table. All I care is if Drake keep releasing music I fukk with

Nah this was a while ago and he ain't say shyt about Drake's numbers, just addressing streaming companies and the effect they are gonna have with all these inflated numbers. He wasn't dissing Drake he was just saying that he's one of those artists that can generate enough attention on his own.

Thats cool and everything, but like i said when you have a userbase that Apple would have us believe pushed out numbers of streams larger than a userbase that is significantly larger , in Spotify, to the tune of 15 mil vs 100 million users, you have a problem that statistically doesn't sound right, especially if those Spotify numbers he posted are correct.

I read some of it but I could really careless about the details because none of that puts food on my table. All I care is if Drake keep releasing music I fukk with

Yeah but this thread and the article has nothing to do with your enjoyment of drake, just the numbers Apple is pushing.

I'm confused why you would even post this
