This is a good thing, a 10-20 percent shift in the black vote would basically doom the democrats
The Democrats need to start explaining what they will do for black people if they want to keep the black vote
In the long term black people need to be a swing vote, that is the best way to leverage a minority vote into political power

Blacks have been voting democrat for 60 years, yet blacks are poorer than their grand parents, have lower social mobility and the black nuclear family is non existent. The Clinton's 1994 crime bill was responsible for much of the incarceration of black males we see today, which has contributed to the fatherless epidemic, along with progressive policies like single mother welfare. Democrats have forgotten their working class roots and now they're the party that represent immigrant and elitist liberal interests. They only pay lip service to blacks, they have never solved any major black issue in the last 20 years. In fact, they prefer if the black community remained unstable and impoverished so they could always depend on them for votes.

Conservatives have no need for the black vote to win.
All they have to do is keep black voter turnout low.
You have to understand that none of them represent your interest. But atleast with new republicans, black and white conservative interests converge when it comes to issues like Immigration. Blacks can't keep blindly voting for democrats , keep your options open and see which parties policies benefit the blacks community more. It could democrat one year, republicans the next. If you keep your options open and don't let the black liberal elite in Hollywood and NY control you , then your vote becomes more valuable, and both democrats and republicans will try their best to appeal to swing black voters. Never let both parties get comfortable and complacent.

Republicans are in a tough spot. Most in the party know that future Demographic projections arent in their favour, and despite the rise of the reactionary right, many of the youth still increasingly vote for democrats. Blacks have the potential to hold the balance of power if they act smart.
@Frank Grimes thought he was really saying something profound. It's obvious AF if Republicans didn't have a reputation for being more openly racist than Democrats, A lot more black folks would vote Republican. That isn't a secret.

Maybe Democrats will actually pass policies that advance blacks without our guaranteed support. What we have now is a party that has our vote regardless... surely you see the problem(which twism has pointed out a billion times)? Pointing(deflecting) and saying well the GoP is worse isnt helping... in fact its cosigning our demise.
You support conservatives who actually create legislation to harm blacks.
Until you can reconcile this position your opinions on what liberals do is irrelevant.
