I for one don't agree with the call on that down. There are other plays I would have attempted before that play ( in my opinion safer and higher % rate to work) with that being said the play worked,Lockett was open, Butler just made a fantastic play, and honestly that's just what it was and I give credit
It is a dumb thought to actually think Pete Carroll of all people, would risk his legacy, simply because " he didn't want marshawn to win mvp"
Pete, Bevell and Russ are forever cemented in history for that play ( in a bad way) our kids, grandkids and great grandkids will be watching that play.
I doubt Pete was thinking " let me go down in infamy because I don't want my not so outspoken rb to get the mvp"
