Do they really need 3 day hearings with the fed reserve chair and Mnuchin to state the obvious that people need some relief. I mean shyt is about to turn ugly. Europe is about to shut down again so you know we are next. All these service industries like restaurants are gonna go under for sure once fall hits and they aren’t allowed gimmicky patio/outdoor dining anymore. People are still thousand behind on rent or mortgages. But these fukkers can avoid shutdown within a day

The restaurant shyt is crazy. I'm a chef and it's very scary. Place I worked at closed in March for a few days then announced they were closing for good. It's getting bad out here and people think shyts sweet cuz you can go in buildings now and they allow higher group numbers. Spring is gonna be hell

when outdoor seating isnt possible because of weather

what states are yall in, just interested to see what other states are also only doing outdoor dining. my frame of reference is cali and ny/nj, then the south and flyover states seemed like they were all open with indoor dining and whatnot

ct

there is some indoor dining allowed right now but i think the outdoor seating kept a lot of places afloat from about june until the beginning of september

its wild because they allow indoor dining in limited amounts here now but we cant have anyone in our lobby at the business i work at

so at a restaurant there can be however many people with masks off from time to time but we cant have people with masks on just sit there?

doesnt make sense but the govt is lazy and cant put out a nuanced system to save their lives

this times 100, i've been saying that since the shutdowns. i'm like how are you keeping salons/nail shops closed when they can easily limit the number of clients, do contact tracing, and space them, but you reopened retail which is a free for all? same with keeping smaller gyms/fitness studios closed under the same reasoning that you'd keep a big box gym closed, one might have a class of 20 that they can cut down, the other might see 300 people an hour...wtf

i'm in the bay area so we have about another month of decent weather, but they better open indoor dining, because even if the weather is decent, it gets cold AF in the evening and as the days get shorter, you're going to have fewer folks wanting to be out at a restaurant/patio bar after 6pm

On the retail front they are usually in large spaces with a chance to distance or limit capacity.

If you are stuck sitting in a salon or barber chair in a small store any germs in the air will probably float towards you. Blow dryers, aerosol cans, etc.

Difficult to line up a goatee with a mask on.

We can have 1 instructor and 4 kids on the court (on the other side) but no one in the lobby even if it's the kids parents that drove them there :what:

Its rated as the safest sport..but we have to wear a mask within 12 feet of a kid and they dont have to wear it while playing on the other side :what: as long as they are 6 feet apart

No one can sit on chairs on the court :what:

We arent even allowed to do serving at all and instructors have to pick up all the balls :what:

The guidelines havent been updated since May :what:

the stylist has their mask on. i got my hair and nails done with both of us having masks on. most grooming service shops are small, it's much easier to trace who is visiting and on what day and time than it is to track all the people who are in and out of target, macy's, the big chain grocery stores, etc. proximity is one risk factor, i get it, but so is the number of people you're exposed to, being around 100 untraced people at once (who aren't distanced, i've been at the grocery store and people are all up on each other reaching over one another for produce, freezer items, etc) seems just as risky, if not riskier, as the 2-3 clients a stylist might be in close proximity to over the course of a day.
