let me make clear what i cannot believe i have to explain right now

the republican senate majority is on the ropes and fighting for its life. lets say pelosi accepts the bill, and it goes to the republican senate. so they turn it down? every one of their democrat opponents says "tillis, mcsally, gardner, collins, and graham don't care about you. i would have signed the bill, the people of our state need stimulus and help :scust:". one of the worst blows a republican senator could be dealt right now who's fighting for re-election.

how is that a loss for us? :laff:
They are currently ramming through a SCOTUS nominee because they believe it will do two things they've been saying they'd do for a decade.

Repeal Obamacare.
Allow states to ban abortion.

They don't care about providing stimulus and they don't care if this costs then a few seats.

You are living in a world where you think conservative voters aren't as scummy as their elected officials they choose to represent them.

that's cool, but for what? to not get any money for anyone until March?

i mean as long as we're clear about that :dead:because that's the consequence of her holdout. she's not in position to win this, and never has been
Im selfish :shaq: a holdout + a dem blue wave = even more free shyt come March:mjlit:

:hubie: i look forward to pelosi getting a win with your strategy

fukk everyone who's out of work until March tho, i guess

I'm not arguing she shouldn't be doing more, I agree she has had some slips but is still way better than Schumer in regards to navigating the landscape. I just feel it isn't as cut and dry on this when she has been working for and on this for months but now we have to have her take concessions because the republicans played the wrong hand and are already on a weak foot on this in the general public sense.

Do we need something now? Yes I agree it would be better if we did.

Is allowing concessions that will barely band-aid the boo-boo worth it? I just don't think so.

You don't think the Senate deciding to Ram through a Supreme Court justice isn't relevant to how they've drug their feet and stonewalled providing additional stimulus to voters.

:mjlol:

You are arguing with yourself. :ld:

You're arguing both that Americans aren't getting any stimulus because Pelosi won't accept the GOP proposal and you are also arguing that Pelosi should accept the GOP proposal because the GOP won't approve it.

breh im not arguing that the republicans arent scumbags, but i have to look at this looking at the leverage the democrats have; it doesnt exist. not with this senate/white house power balance

the starting point for the democrats isnt 3 trillion; it's whatever the republicans say it is. that's just how it is until we take the senate back. pelosi could have proposed 3 trillion, she could have proposed 30 trillion; she needs a signoff from people who want 0 more dollars. that makes the starting point 0. for her to have leverage, she has to have something the senate republicans want; they don't want anything from nancy pelosi :dead:

so if pelosi doesnt wanna take it then fine, but i guess we wait til march for any stimulus :yeshrug: personally i have years worth of bills in the bank, i dont give a fukk. sucks for people who cant say that, i guess

:mjlol:
no, because 95 percent of america wants stimulus money, and like 40 percent of america wants the judge rammed through :why:

i cant take any more of these strawmen :damn:

So if 87% of Americans want stimulus and the House currently has a bill sitting on McConnells desk...how is this anyone's fault but his? :dwillhuh:

because that bill isn't a real thing. mnuchin's is, and has the cosign of the most powerful person in government. pelosi's bill is a fantasy that can, and will. stay in the trash, and she has no leverage to make it go anywhere

come on breh :russ: put your disdain of me aside for 5 minutes. stop playing dumb

Wait, a bill that was passed by the house isn't real?

But a proposal presented by someone with no legislative authority is?

This thread is a collection of some of your all time worst arguments.

Dems are always at a disadvantage with messaging because the Reps are always unified in fukking over the others even at the detriment of themselves and Dem/indies can't allow good be the substitute for great.

uh, yes. the one that has a chance of becoming law is real; the one that has no chance, is not

let me try to make sense of this for you: lets say i walked up to you on the street and said "check out this TV from best buy that I want, here's a proposal of how we can pay for it". your reaction would be "fukk outta here, i don't want a TV at all though :childplease:"

would i (pelosi) have leverage over you? :laff:or would i be starting at 0, and have to take whatever you would give me?

You're basically offering up the equivalent of getting an oil change and a tire rotation after a car accident.

And then saying," Hey, it's better than nothing!"

NEW: President Trump's last-ditch effort to secure another enormous package of emergency coronavirus relief is being threatened by an unusual group: his GOP allies in Congress. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has repeatedly thrown cold water on the idea of spending trillions more dollars to fight the pandemic and is opposing Trump's $1.8 trillion package.

Trump faces unusual barrier to COVID-19 aid: GOP allies
“I would like to see a bigger stimulus package, frankly, than either the Democrats or the Republicans are offering,” Trump said.
