but they dont have liability protection right now :why:

More reason for them not to have it. :yeshrug: They don't need it. These companies can put out the cash for a lawsuit if it comes up. Your avg worker cannot - even if they had stimulus money.

This sits on the Senate, Mitch, and the Rs.

but the average worker shouldnt even be able to sue their job for getting the virus :snoop:

we're 8 months into it. assess the risk yourself, and quit or dont apply if you feel it's dangerous. people have BEEN working in grocery stores, with the public, for 8 months :why:

i mean im sorry, but the idea of holding up stimulus over this is asinine. give them protection in exchange for bigger checks

where are the successful lawsuits currently being filed that you're referring to? that are suddenly gonna be unable to be filed if protection is put in place?

what do you mean, "these companies"? are you aware that this is also gonna protect small businesses who cannot afford lawsuits?

Depends on the provisions in place to keep the workers safe. I worked a bit with OSHA so I'm very worker slanted. There are places definitely putting workers at risk, and many of those workers don't have the flexibility to just get up and leave.

Tyson is a good example of how NOT to do it, as they only started listening to the need for better protection after their bad PR with the gambling on infections.

Yeah, jobs are just falling out of the sky in the pandemic. I saw a bunch stuffed into my mailbox today!

There isn't a valid enough reason to supply immunity. If the workplace small or big was negligent, they deserve the lawsuit should it come.

I'm aware. No issue with what I said. Taking your example, a small business would still be the better of the two between itself and a worker for lawyering up for a suit.

what lawsuits are gonna be filed in the future, if people arent even filing them 8 months into the pandemic on ANY kind of wide scale?

you want to hold out on stimulus so that people can maybe file phantom lawsuits in the future? :dead:
What is even the purpose of them wanting this liability protection? Are they prepping for the future firing of people that can’t work because of covid or what?

Only way this makes sense is if they forgive the rent that is owed. If they are not forgiving back rent, then there will be retroactive unemployment. Otherwise, there’s no point.

:mjtf:
So a lot of Americans will have a lot debt, fukked up credit and limited job opportunities thanks to this pandemic
