wwf is a more important/biggwe brand than wcw. people watched the hitmans career over the entire wwf hogan era. from tag team dominance, he was already a huge star cause hart foundation one of the most legendary teams.

his intercontinental run was legendary. that belt then feels bigger than the wwe championship now.

he was the main draw of the rebuilding wwf. im not a guy who can remember many memorabole matches. but i can tell you bret hart had classics from raw with 1-2-3 kid, hakushi, the entire clique basically, owen, yoko... sting is not on brets radar.

sting was corny as fukk in the wolfpack btw. woldpack was cool til luger and sting, made them cornier than nwo hollywood which was hard with some of those bums

I'm trying to think about who was really the bigger star in the Early 90's

WWF had the bigger audience at that time given WCW for the most part was on cable and had some dreadful booking, that steroid trial was giving WWF all kinds of hell but they were a better ran company at the time. Sting was doing some really good stuff in ring during that 1989-1994 stretch but only a few of us here were actually watching WCW then. I still say Sting but I get why others would say Bret given it was easier to watch him

Plus today is Sting's 56th birthday so I'm gonna keep it classy

I prefer Bret. I think he was a better worker, was easier to have a better match with. I think his promo work as a heel puts him over Sting's promo work when you compare the two. I always preferred the left leg step through sharpshooter over the right leg step through scorpion deathlock:pachaha: Both were great baby faces. A shame Bret's career ended prematurely though

Yea, Bret had a better promo for sure

But a better worker and easier to have a better match with?

I always liked Sting from day one. Was never into that Bret Hart shyt....I didn't want him to win the first King of the Ring...or beat Perfect in NY.

How is this a debate:
in-ring: Bret easy
impact/legacy: Bret slight edge
promo: same.. bret later heel stuff gives him slight edge

Landslide for the hitman

Bret may be a icon in Canada but you can't say his legacy is far beyond Sting. Bret was the guy who got screwed over and Sting was the biggest WCW franchise player in history. Fans always stuck with him when it mattered...that wasn't the case with Bret by the time Austin blew up.
