I only saw Isiah play his last season. John Stockton is the best pure PG I have ever seen in my life. Just imagine Mark Prices shooting with Nashs passing and an abiltity to actually play defense.

I think it's really lazy to just defer to team titles in an individual comparison.

Stockton went to two finals. His Jazz teams lost to a better team. Isiah won titles in between the Laker and Bull dynasties. Tough for me to say the Jazz, when they peaked, don't get at least a title in one of those years.

Pos rep. The only point guard that should even be mentioned as better than Stockton is Magic. Point guard head to heads are deeper than points scored against one another. That's a weak argument. Everyone knew Zeke could score. The greatest thing about Stockton to me was not only his ability to work the pick and roll and find open teammates, but also the fact that he was the ULTIMATE pass first player. He could have scored whenever he wanted to. His 3 point shot was solid, his ability to get into the lane was solid.....he just didnt look for his own shot very often.

You can when these guys are so similar in careers.

Fact is he lost it's not like they were sweeps. You can't say they would win because there's no facts there. I could also say Prime Isiah on the Jazz beat the Jordan Bulls but who could prove it?

Isiah was the leader of a team that won 2 out of 3 finals, Stockton was considered a sidekick to Karl Malone.

Zeke sacrificed his stats for the betterment of those teams. He was a true floor general and leader.

Alll those PER's and TS% can't change that and Stockton would trade those in for Zeke's rings anyday.

Both were great but give me Thomas. The absolute leader of his squads and could carry them when needed. I don't think you can say the same about Stockton :manny:

Arguably the greatest point guard the league has ever seen was considered a sidekick?

Stockton wasn't any of these things? IF anythign Stockton is a MUCH better embodiment of this than Zeke.

I am not taking away anything from that Bad Boys Pistons side....but Zeke went through an aging Bird ( who had beaten them in 85 and 87 ), a young Michael (who along with the Bulls put the beats on Zeke for the next 4 or 5 years), and a Lakers side in transition to get his rings. Not to mention the Pistons teams who won were very solid. But they came along at just the right time.

I love stockton, but how do yall think he would have looked in an offense that wasn't so heavy on pick and rolls and he had to break down defenses by himself more often?
