And.. this is the absolute worst era of personality's and being able to tell a story and make it entertaining. Nobody gives a shyt about 90% of the wrestlers and what they are doing so the 3-5* matches are worthless. Every time u watch a promo it's feels like they are holding a script or playing a character none of it is believable or feels real like it was back in the day.

This is a great point. Today's angles and storylines feel way too overproduced. The gains they've made in developing better workers, consistent workrate and good matches are taken away by weaker and unoriginal storylines, less drama, and the impression that these dudes aren't really feelin' it when they're on the mic.

i'm talking about specifically during the megapowers' year...their biggest matches were against the twin towers, and honkey tonk man with the hart foundation's help. They kept dibiase and andre and the rest of the henan family away from hogan. They were messing with ultimate warrior preparing for his buildup

All good to great workers. There's a few good workers on the roster now, but you also have to remember times have changed so you can't really compare workrate from different eras. You can't expect wrestlers in WWF in 1989 to wrestle for a 2013 crowd, when this style of wrestling wasn't expected or accepted by WWF fans back then. You have to wrestle for the era you're in.

so, coming from the youtube upload thread, i've been slowly rewatching my favorite PPV ever, Wrestlemania V..and brehs...it might not be anymore


We are SPOILED with the likes of a ppv card where the worst guy in ring is Ryback. Ryback is ALLAH compared to the bushwackers, RONNIE FREAKIN GARVIN...Dino BRAVO...the fabulous rugeau bros...the ghost of andre the giant...the mid to undercard during this era were generic body builders who couldn't work move a dang thing. GARVIN's signature move...was the GARVIN STOMP..what the HELL.

The 3rd biggest act in the fed was demolition..true legends....straight up these dudes was through and through...at least they could sell but they wouldn't even be jobbers today.

and i'm not even talking about new-generation..i'm talking GOLDEN era...Dolph zigger would be SAVAGE back then...

the top tier workers (savage, the rockers, bret hart, rick rude, the brain busters, perfect, blue blazer) were super legit but below that...wtf
