I wish I was as confident as you are about the GOP shooting themselves in the foot, but they're decimating the administrative state, they're continuing to rollback protections for abortion on the state level, they've held up judicial appointments, environmental protection melting away, they're about to have affirmative action in critical condition, gerrymandering is still moving full steam ahead and they've got 15 states with book bans on the horizon or active right now.

Just like in the midterms, where Dems still performed poorly (much better than expected, but that's sort of a sad position to argue from), there have only been a few select places throughout the U.S. where Dobbs and the rollback of COVID protections has done anything in the Dems favor - in part because their marketing is so goddamn bad.

The GOP should be performing vastly worse than it is (funny, this argument has been sitting since '06), yet they're still holding statewide offices in some of the biggest states and are only marginally behind in the federal legislature (they run the state and federal judiciaries and swap out the executive offices every 4 years regardless of how insane they are).

They said it was suppose to be a red wave in the 2022 mid terms… it didn’t happen as Dems outperformed the gop in a Dem president first term..
