The only area of ATL that was officially gentrified was the Eastside and thats because nobody lived there like that, and even then there are still a lot of blacks. ATL will be gentrified but to the extent of say an NYC? IDK.

If y'all can explain to me who r the black ppl that will move in and be the economic base of the west side. I will concede my point :yeshrug:

However those dudes are leaving or about to and no ones taking their place. U can't just live on there's too many of us. U need a base without a base u have nothing

Like I said, I live on the west, and on my street there are other young home owners. The Westside has a much younger demographic than the Eastside. The Eastside had a ton of elderly, the Westside has a lot of middle aged blacks. I`m not saying the west Cant be gentrified, what I`m saying is there will always be a large number of blacks there.

I tried to tell y'all @Poitier

I literally sat at a gala with kasim and herdons son and they were literally begging young black professional ppl to buy up west side housing. The writings on the wall.

Hipsters will go west we will lose the city and all y'all Nikkas going to be like :ohhh:

Y'all don't understand government contracts are the base of black business, black loans come from the city for restaurants and small businesses. Y'all keep acting like this shyt doesn't exist man. I've only dropped facts and numbers on y'all out of love but y'all still don't wanna listen :yeshrug:

It's not lost on everybody. My moms don't even stay here no more and she still owns a few pieces of property in NW. 2 of them paid off and she not about to sell. She been put me up on game. That's why I'm grinding my ass off now to get a piece of that pie. Trying to buy something on that back side of Bankhead. I really like that Johnson/Hollywood Rd area. I'm born and raised NW breh. Ain't no way in hell they bout to gentrify my section and I ain't gon eat. And i know more than a few younger dudes under 40 who own not just one but a few houses in NW or SW. They out here breh.

I'm telling u man. The higher up blacks are desperate the second generation of professionals is not moving back into the spots to hold it down, simple as that. Those black ppl are dying off, how many ppl u know saying they moving to the west side? I know zero

:ohhh:You gotta point for real. Everybody I know thats black moving here moves to Gwinett, Cobb and Camp Creek. But then again I don't see certain places being gentrified like Cascade area nikkas over there already how that shyt work but honestly either way Atlanta is not gonna be the same Atlanta in 10 years for sure.

The Eastside isn't done being Gentrified. The Westside is honestly 15-20 yrs away. I think they will revitalize Downtown before the Westside gets actually "gentrified". The smart thing would be for young people to take advantage now of these cheap homes and cheap commercial property but they have to understand this isn't going to be an overnight thing.

Bankhead will be the last area gentrified lol.

Right now Beltline Neighborhoods and Vine City are the hot spots, and the parts of English Ave closest to Northside and Boone. West End is the furthest along on the westside.

If u go to city data Atlanta white pol r openly talking about how'd they move to Bankhead. Not tomorrow but if it started "growing" which is basically gentrifying

Y'all ain't say nothing about the shyt the Westside Works program is doing? It's just cool if it fits that narrative for the negative shyt huh?. But y'all can't just ignore all these young brehs walking around the west in those neon green construction vests. I see some of the same young nikkas who was in the trap or playing ski mask games a few years ago actually gainfully employed now. Getting off from a days work of doing something productive. They training these young nikkas and giving them jobs. A whole bunch of them. All these cranes in the sky and nikkas is getting a piece of that action. Name another city in America that has this many huge building projects going on at once that actually makes a real effort to include the local nikkas?

Bankhead east of Hightower probably. West of there them nikkas own they shyt breh. Kings Grant and Collier Heights doesn't have rentals breh. Those are homeowners. I grew up with people from over there. It may be the hood but they got sense.

I agree. They'll be on Hollywood tho. They already over there now. And I could see that first couple of blocks past the train station and east of Grove Park turning white. Those houses over there are what they like. Those old ass 4-5 bedroom bungalows. South of Bankhead and west of Westlake and especially Hightower will stay Black. At least until ranch style homes become hip and in style. They don't want those style of houses right now.

Been a problem. Grew up in Smyrna and Decatur. Folks think Cobb is cool but my whole block was a bunch of broke black, white and hispanic families living in broke down duplexes :francis: Then moved to the Dec and like someone already said....one person on Section 8, the other got a 6 figure household income...it's a mixed bag depending where u at but I was on Candler Road so u know most people were broke on my street:yeshrug:
