Most people that commit suicide have mental problems. It’s funny how people will excuse literally anything having to do with mental health but act oblivious to it when the person finally reaches their end. I tend to agree with OP. I’ve seen Suicide effect my family negatively. In one case, my cousin did that and when his dad found him he fainted from the shock and busted his head and died in a coma. So, in thinking that you’re doing your family a favor by removing yourself because you think you’re a burden or you’ll somehow find relief in death you potentially harm your loved ones even more. It’s just a selfish and bytchmade way to handle adversity imo.

I can only understand if it’s very extreme trauma that was never properly addressed due to lack of resources/support. That of course can drive you to suicide or other self destructive behavior. But when you have the resources at your disposal you owe it not just to yourself but to your loved ones to try everything. I’ve actually been in that dark place, and when I thought of my parents and other loved ones I felt selfish to want to end my own life. I can’t stand to see them hurt at all so why would I provide them the greatest hurt of all? Not to mention, despite us being more sensitive to the burdens on our own shoulders we should always have the sense to be able to contextualize our struggle vs the struggle of others going through far worse things.

I mean wtf, some people kill themselves because someone they loved felt differently while people on this planet deal with literal enslavement. It’s kids in Yemen being born in hell on earth, people living as third class citizens on they own land facing death and imprisonment, many Black people right here being mocked by America’s opulence while living in a racial imposed mass internal exile from true citizenship beyond the surface level shyt, maaaan go find some strength and work through the troubles. You’ll be better off for it.
