According to the diatribes espoused on The Coli, this dude should have been happy as hell.
- STEM career
- Attractive, in shape wife
- Children
- 6 figga n#gga
- Assuming at 6 certs
- Big house
But dude let stories develop in his head about his life being his career. Work is what we do, not who we are. If you're self-worth is wrapped up in being "an engineer at Uber" or being anything for that matter, other than what you can control via your character, you're in a tenuous position. Because someone can decide that you're no longer an engineer at Uber.
And that thought stream literally terrorized this man's mind. Until the point of no return.
Jobs come and jobs go. They're simply a means to an end.
Unfortunately, so many people lose themselves in their jobs because they have no life plan outside of being an employee. Their entire idea of life is centralized around being of service to something outside of themselves via being employed. So, if they're not in the "right kind of job", their self worth is in the sh#tter. And when they do get the "right job", they kill themselves trying to keep it....even when that's not their decision to make.
This is why I chuckle when I hear people brag about their job or what they do. Because their entire concept of self is wrapped up in someone else putting them on. Letting them work in a cubicle or even a corner office that they've decided to bless them with.
It's quite pathetic to be honest.
Peace
