This movie finally made me accept that this shyt isn't written for my generation anymore.

Everything has to be quips and lighthearted and superficial. Everyone is a clown. Do people really behave like this?
I think that Nolan Batman movies have distorted the public perception of the tone of comic book material. Comic books have always had humor in them (it's why they're called comic books). Some lay the humor on thick, Deadpool, Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, some use a more dry humor, Superman, Batman, Daredevil. It's wasn't until Frank Miller and Alan Moore started writing in the 80s that some comics were being written with a more stoic tone, but even after that period writers started adding humor back into it.

For the most part, if you don't like humor, comics aren't that genre for you.

Batman Begins had a lot of jokes in it.

"I gotta get me one of those!" :gladbron:

"I need it because I'm interested in....spelunking"
+ Many more Lucius Fox scenes.

This movie was safe and I understand that.

I thought Lex Luthor was good not great. Of the whole cast Lois Lane, and Mr. Terrific were the best parts.

I still want a Superman movie where the villains aren't Lex and/or an evil version of Superman.

Edit: :salute:to Wendell Pierce aka Bunk from The Wire for being in this, Thunderbolts, and the new Spike Lee and Denzel Movie. He's more talented than these roles for sure but its nice to know he's still getting paid to work in these big movies.

The physical stuff, sure.

But they approached him in 2018 or some shyt, then he had ideas but didn't feel like he could do it until late 2022. That's like 4 years of mulling it over before he actually felt confident enough to build on it. That's where ideas get scrapped and others gestate properly..

With this timeline they'll pretty much be forced to make whatever treatment he just now came up with, with minimal time to course correct.

Not saying it's not possible, he could've spent the 5 years already thinking about sequels as well. I think the track record for Hollywood, and especially Warner Brothers, fast tracking movies isn't great though.

Again with minor Jor-El quibble aside I am all in for this Superman flick, so I'll be there day one for the next one.
They plotted out an initial 10 year.

Gunn already said just because something is in production doesn’t mean it will get made unless the script is ready.

unlike Marvel, there’s nothing that says Gunn won’t recalibrate if something doesn’t work. So far he’s 3 for 3.The Multiverse Saga has been a bust for a while but Feige kept plugging through instead of cutting its losses.

:mjlol:Yeah it’s too early for a sequel. Gunn needs to chill, let this movie marinate more, listen/read some of the criticisms from the first movie, let the next few DCU projects shine, and then start writing a sequel. :ufdup:Don’t rush this shyt Gunn.
Creature Commandos, Superman, and Peacemaker season 2 are positively rated with fans.

If anything he’s on track. We will see how non-Gunn movies like Supergirl and Clayface do.

You realize 1966 Batman under Adam West was a parody that was a worldwide phenomenon.

Quips and lighthearted are engrained in superhero fiction. It’s multigenerational

Finally got around to watching this today. I gotta say, it didn’t really connect with me. Not sure why honestly. I don’t think it’s a bad movie by any means but it just didn’t pull me in at all. Thought Lex was kinda corny and I need to see more Cornsweat before I can make a determination on him.

@daemonova @Peter Popoff @MoshpitMazi

we did it!!

DC Click defeated Marvel Set

@wire28 @AnonymityX1000 @Norrin Radd finally caught their first L

I told people last year….. the New DC Click wasn’t gonna be like that last batch of bumbling Clark Kent’s and idiot old DC (Snyder Set) Stan’s.

We had a real vision a real strategic mission.

We executed it perfectly, we won!!! Flawlessly
