He was totally camp and silly. Poisoning beauty supplies and deadly gas parades aren’t anything you wouldn’t have seen in the campy silver age or Adam West version.

The threat was how the movie executed it.

Joker’s goons in Keaton’s version doing backflips and karate is more in line with Power Rangers goons than Ledger’s hostage shooters.
No, Nicholson's Joker was not "totally" camp. Doing pranks and jokes is silly, but he was very much crazy and menacing.

He could be doing some goofy sh!t one second, and then the next second, he'll kill someone in cold blood. That's Joker at his absolute best. Unpredictable.

I've already made a post about this scene on the previous page. Anyway, Nicholson's Joker was a bit campy but not "totally" campy. What's hard to understand?

For example, the Joker in the DCAU did pranks and other silly stuff, but that didn't stop him from being menacing. Also, DCAU Joker is one of the best depictions of the Joker EVER!

I really like Superman. I probably didn’t need all the extra characters in this movie. But I think I liked this more than Fantastic 4. But he’s so much more likable than Henry Caville

Still got to build toward a Justice "whatever"

Still got to compete with this...

Love this flick but I'm always hesitant when studios catch a good one and start fast tracking productions. It took Gunn 3 years to make this movie, MAYBE that's part of what made it so good.

The physical stuff, sure.

But they approached him in 2018 or some shyt, then he had ideas but didn't feel like he could do it until late 2022. That's like 4 years of mulling it over before he actually felt confident enough to build on it. That's where ideas get scrapped and others gestate properly..

With this timeline they'll pretty much be forced to make whatever treatment he just now came up with, with minimal time to course correct.

Not saying it's not possible, he could've spent the 5 years already thinking about sequels as well. I think the track record for Hollywood, and especially Warner Brothers, fast tracking movies isn't great though.

Again with minor Jor-El quibble aside I am all in for this Superman flick, so I'll be there day one for the next one.
They approached him in 2018, but then he made Suicide Squad. He was hired to head DCU in late 2022 and then announced he was writing the film. Filming was supposed to start in early 2024 but all the Hollywood strikes stopped that shyt.

I have no problem with films being fast tracked if there is a plan in place. The first thing Gunn and his partner said they did was layout a 10 year plan for the universe. If creatives approach him with a dope idea, he's open to it but even before it's announced, there needs to be final script. It seems like he has a thought out plan for the Superman universe so I have no problem with him knocking shyt out.
