I think Variety has a more conservative outlook. We'll see... it's hard to open that high these days especially for a non-sequel.
I mean, if Captain America: Brave New World can open to $100 million dollars domestically. Then I see no reason why Superman can't open to $135 million domestically.
It's not really about the opening, though. It's about sustaining the momentum + word of mouth (which will depend on the quality of the movie).
