I aint got a number review for you but it was fine. In the Gunn comic movie power rankings I'd put it last. It's never bad but I never felt like this is some elite cooking from Gunn. All his past work has one or a few standout moments where I thought this is a top comic book movie moment. This didn't really have one to me.

Random thoughts:
If Reeves, Cavill, Routh, and etc were playing Superman, Corenswet feels more like he's bouncing between Superman and Superteen at times. A surprising lack of him playing Clark in here. Depending on the clips and trailers you watched you've seen damn near all the Clark scenes already. Mr. Terrific has the best action scene in here, but Gunn got in his own way with the music choice.:francis: Lex was fine. Jimmy Olsen has a subplot that felt like something they would have done in the Harley Quinn animated show or that Batman vs Harley movie. Lois was fine. Everything was fine except for Hawkgirl she kept doing a cringy scream. I dunno if that's comic accurate or not but no bueno. Turning Jor-El and the Kryptonians into Viltrumites a was a choice.

My biggest gripe isn't with the movie itself but with the marketing. A crazy amount of this movie was in the trailers. No bullshyt like every major sequence in the movie.
And not just small incidental shyt but like the money shot moment of a scene was just thrown in the trailer like bruh what ya doin?:gucci:If you watched the clips they put out you really fukked yourself over. They damn near put the whole first act out in the trailers and clips.
I take this review more seriously than this @Saysumthinfunnymike biased ass clown.

Feels a bit all over the place and some of the characters were severely underused

This movie was literally a James Gunn humour copy+paste, which is cool and all, but it felt outta place for a Superman film and everytime the movie gets a bit serious someone got make a dumb quip

It definitely starts strong but halfway through the movie crumbles a bit and the writing is kinda off. The fight scenes are very clean and so was CGI. But I didn’t care for any character except for Clark, Krypto and maybeJimmy
(he should def smash shorty for the weekend lol)

Maybe a 7/10?

Got done watching. I'm gonna try and be objective. This was a goofy mess. I give it a 5.5/10. The plot was convoluted, and it just seemed so whimsical.

The best character in the movie was Mr. Terrific. Lex Luthor didn't feel like a real threat. And they overdid it with KRYPTO. I get they were trying to get their "baby Yoda" with him, but I don't know.

I'll be very curious to see the box office numbers.

Also, that Jimmy Olsen subplot was so stupid and not needed.

Agreed

This is why is tried to hard to stay away from spoilers but unfortunately the first trailer that dropped was pretty much the whole flipping movie :snoop:

I feel like Fantastic 4 is doing the exact same thing

Supergirl doesn’t seem like she’s gonna be a captivating character either. That ending had me thinking Gunn gonna make her a overly quippy female Peter Parker :patrice:

Mister Terrific is so fukkin dope :wow: brehs.... it ain't even a cameo he's in a lot of the movie and he's stealing the show in every scene :whew:
I think I remember reading a quote from Gunn saying Mr Terrific like the most important character in the movie not named Clark/Lois or something like that and said he purposely made it like that.

I kinda been staying away from a lot of the trailers press marketing, twitter and etc so I don’t think I knew he was gonna be in this movie

Or atleast get all the time he got and I was absolutely shocked it was buddy from Righteous Gemstones

Since that show is kinda still fresh as we only a few month removed from that season ending

I couldn’t help but laugh at all his scenes… lol

Honestly, I could see Danny McBride as a character in this Superman movie. That's how silly it was.
