Ppl on the coli gas GotG3 like that or you just talking? Serious question, I dont think I follow much Marvel coli shyt but I dont remember reading GotG3 being praised on some great/masterpiece shyt. I fukk with Gunn, GotG1 was good, 2 was middish and I didnt bother with 3 or most the end marvel movie stuff.
For the most part it’s beloved on here, lots of glowing reviews in the thread. Myself included. A bunch of “best since Endgame” talk that came after a sloppy period of MCU entries, but also Gunn and co. simply just doing their thing again.

The movie was pretty good. First off, Superman is always a goofy and campy character amongst the pessimistic and grim world. That's his entire thing. He is the ultimate beacon of hope. Corenswet did a good job, as Superman and as Clark. I like the incoporation of Superman paying attention to and caring about what people, the media and general public think of him. Lois and Jimmy were also good. Mr. Terrific and Guy GL were nice additions. Fillion really captures the charismatic a$$hole Guy. I can see him wielding yellow & red rings. The best part is that they threw you right into a Day in the Life or the World of Superman.

I think that Hoult was a bit too over the top, like almost amplifying what Eisenberg did. I think it just needed to be dialed back a bit. Rosenbaum is still the best live action Lex by far. I didn't like Krypto. I also didn't like Ma & Pa Kent. I get that they were simple, grounded farmers, but some of the delivery made them feel a bit too simple-minded. I also didn't like Krypto at all, or Metamorpho. The All-Star Superman stuff could've been skipped over. They did try to cram too much into the movie, but it almost worked seamlessly.

Oh yeah, the fight scenes were ok for the most part. The flying needs work.

alright, next morning review

This is one of my favorite comic movies of all time. For context, my favorite heroes and comic characters ever, in order:
  1. Spiderman
  2. Lex Luthor
  3. Wolverine
  4. Shazam
  5. Superman
  6. Darkseid
  7. Batman
  8. Black Panther
  9. Bishop
  10. Black Adam

    (take that under consideration)
So, the success of Lex Luthor really made my night. This is the best Luthor of all time. Really incredible work. No notes. The execution scene :wow: Dude was so fukkin evil. GOAT shyt. My favorite since Christian Bale, and most effective since Killmonger.

The romance between Clark and Lois was so much better than I expected. Classic scene at the end.

The Ma/Pa Kent worked great and the conversation at the end between Pa Kent and Clark was just amazing...it is one of the best scenes like that in comic history...

The Justice Gang worked better than I expected, and Guy Garner was the jackass he always is :russ:.

And Krypto worked for me...hilarious honestly and was right at the limit of too much but didn't cross it. And 'don't mess with a man's dog' as a motivator always works lmao

I give this a certified A. 96/100. Will see in theaters again.

I think this is a solid 6, its a nice summer popcorn flick but this aint a top 10 comic book movie. I'd be in for a sequel depending on villain (Braniac  ).
I think this universe could do him justice.

Thoughts as I watched:
Pros:
  • Supes gave a solid performance, I saw much more of the boy scout in his personality.
  • Jumping into an already setup universe was a great choice
  • Mr. Terrific was a great addition, he def added some personality without being over the top goofy
  • Lex was solid, he def got better as the film went on
  • This Lois is a major upgrade over Amy Adams :scust:
  • The Engineer had a dope on screen powerset
Cons:
  • Krypto was fukking annoying :camby:
  • 2nd Act was boring af
  • They showed too much in the trailers
  • They could've toned down the country bumpkin on Pa & Ma Kent just a bit
  • Fight scenes were a bit meh
  • Green Lantern was all around trash, costume was terrible, (and im glad lois got on his haircut, nasty work)

Do i like MOS better, yes (better lore and action) but I think this is a good foundation moving forward

For as anti-alien lex is towards superman, why's he got no beef with hawkgirl? Shes literally an alien too

Lex is just a full of shyt white golden spoon over privuleged white boi.

Using the same type of fear mongering talking points. That are similar but more pervertedly worse rhan j jonah jameson in spiderman. Coupled with ratcheted up evil dictator like ways and acts.

this lois is a major downgrade to the man of steel lois. As mos lois actually portrayed on screen. why supes had popeye loves olive oyl simp stop everything for lois energy. This version goes back to that old margot kidder trope. Of an ugly ass white woman being the cats meow. Only because she is white. That was a regression. Plus hurt this film. If not for gun understsnding suoes has to be vulnerable. Built behind the ultraman clone trope. To humanize supes. Lois being ugly as fukk. Plus fukkin insufferable, contentious and trash in every possible way. Being force fed on us. Would drop this movie. To the same level of declining dislike of the original suoerman sequels. gun uses just enough slight of hand. To squeak past rhis old superman contrnt trope like pitfall. That rhe cadtoon and mos actually got right. By one making lois attractive. As well as showing lois being supremely down for clark from jump. This lois harkens back to superman og sequels of being insufferrable. That it opens back up the a can of worms. That eventually could make superman unlikeable like rhe past. That superman was wrongly killed in print. Then eventually ruining the subsequent film universe in adaptation by proxy and errant cobtent decisions. Similar to marvel redoing rhe mistakes of byrne on west coast avengers with scsrlett witch. Coupled with bryne failing to relaunch superman as well. Leading to han solo. I got a bad feeling about this. Levels of discontent. That ruined star wars, the mcu and every past dc film endeavor that included supes

@levitate

You would be better served to see supes. With thr kiddos.
As elio seems a waste. That could be easily seen in a higher quality family style retro viewing of et.
Plus how to train your dragon is welled in patricide. When how to train your dragon. Has one of the best father figures of recent content. Only to be systemically killed..under the follow disney models of content factor. When the disney patricide model never needed to be followed at all in that ip.

The first sentence alone is one of the rare times where I wish I didn’t understand what you’re saying. :francis:

Brosnahan nailed Lois so good here she had Corenswet drop an F-bomb that got cut.
