nightset
Also really liked that there was kind of an explanation on why Lex Cronnies follow along with his cartoonishly evil nonsense (besides money), he pretty much put together an army of Xenophobes, and seeing what we are seeing with ICE they would 100% do all that shyt in real life too

Anyone else think this movie has the best flying sequence in a Superman film by a mile? That shot when he recovers in the fortress and takes off flying is so breathtaking along with the music and David’s smile.
I think Gunn said they used the cinematics or w/e that Top Gun Maverick used for fighter jet scenes, for the superman flying scenes. Think they relied heavily on drones.

It was cool for what it was, James Gunn was fighting James Gunn with this script tho and I think we got a Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 style product at the end. By now people should know what they are getting with Gunn, and that the friends we made along the way, one character is an allegory for how he’s feeling, Yakub poop joke humor might not land with everyone. Mr. Terrific was the best part of the movie. Need more of him and Bloodsport.

Yeah didn’t like that aspect along with
the evil Kryptonians. I hope that Kryptonians message was fukked with by Brainaic in order to try and manipulate Supes to make more Kryptonians for his collection.

I loved that about the parents
i loved the twist with his Krytonian parents. I think it adds many more layers and potential to the story. I think it sets up nicely for Zod to show up first and foremost. Secondly i think it adds more to the Supergirl character as well. Im assuming she grew up on Krypton in this version. So is it possible she already knows what Clarks mission is? Could she even be a spy of some sort? If Zod were to show up would she take his side being that she does have a connection to Krypton? And would probably feel some sense of loyalty to her own people over humans unlike Clark?

Then to top it off,the parents told Clark to be the lord over humans. Which probably means they practice patriarchy and the women mostly have their proper role as home makers:wow:

So maybe thats why she never told Clark ,because she didnt want to be properly subjegated like she wouldve been on krypton.

Also final point,Clarks parents never said they sent him there to kill people. But being a good person he is, thats the way Superman percieves it,thats all he hears. They only told him how stupid and violent humans are ,for what they probably deem as stupid reasons.

They really just told him to be in charge and lead them. And that he should crack a few eggs if they dont want to fall in line. Doesnt he already have his toe in the water when he got involved in Boravia? They never said to mercilessley kill people. Then they told him to practice polygamy and have many wives, they didnt tell him to force himself on anybody. Is polygamy a crime?Whats the problem:gucci:?

Editors note-Yes polygamy is a crime in the zoo created by the European:respect:. But the issue here is Superman being programmed by humans who happen to think thats wrong. But technicallys theres nothing inherently evil about having many wives and babies.. But hes already kindve doing what the parents told him to do,without the wives. Or the willingness to crack eggs which he will see limits his effectiveness(also see Batmans no kill policy)

It’s how it’s perceived an alien coming from out of space to conquer the planet and lord over the weakling earthlings. There is a huge issue with that especially when he thought his purpose was to assist the people of earth. I have no issues with Krypton being on the grey scale when it comes to morality. They are an alien race but what I don’t like is JorEl and Lara being that way. I kind of like them being the exception to the norm on Krypton same as a few minorities. Based on their ideology what separates them from Zod? Personally I think it was one of Gunns worst mistakes in this film.

Sure.... keep going. You wasting your whole Saturday when I never claimed to not like 'Man of Steel'... In fact, I said in here multiple times I love the movie.

You want to do a ban bet that I didn't say it in here? :sas2:

This is about you being a Snyder bro.

And it’s why your initial post was goofy as fukk because you are the biggest “Snyder bro” on this damn site :mjlol:

Snyder is a God and that's all there is to it. :manny:

Whedon is a hack.

WB fukked up :mjlol:

Well, nobody likes to be subjegated/colonized. So i get why humans and Clark would percieve the message that way. But its no different than what happens in the past or currently with governments. People thinking they need to "help" the savages by subjegating them. People thinking they need to force Democracy on every one. And they are willing to crack a few eggs to do these things. Im only pointing out they didnt technically tell him HOW to rule or what his ideology should be. So it really isnt an Omni man situation as of yet. Perhaps thats the difference between Supermans parents and Zod. You have America(Clarks Parents),then you have Hitler/Nazi extremist(Zod)

Im okay with this moral grey area like you said, because i think it has potential to push a better story and internal conflicts. As well as a conflict with Supergirl and Superman.

Plus i think the last interpetation gave a moral grey area to Jonathan Kent in an effort to have that internal struggle. Personally i prefer the Kryptonian parents to have the moral grey area over the parents from Kansas who have a greater impact. And i hope the Kryptonian parents dont get too much burn like Russel Crow did. Hopefully we keep it somewhat vague how it is now

Where did @Jazzy B. go? Disappeared when I made the ban bet :lolbron:

I’m right HERE nikka :dahell:

And when did I say you didn’t like Man of Steel?:dahell:

I literally called you the PRIMARY DEFENDER of that movie which means you loved it and Zach Snyder:dahell:

MY point is that you’re the biggest Man of Steel/Snyder bro dikkrider on the coli.

But now want to say that people who are saying/think Man of Steel was a better movie than this one are Snyder bros and by extension MAGA to discredit their opinion to shill for this movie/WB
