I preferred the world building over a standalone origin story. Got me excited for both more Guy and more terrific so it was effective. Most people seem to share that sentiment too. With DC trying to relaunch its universe I almost feel like it’s the route they HAD to go. We ain’t got time to get introduced to one character at a time. Get that shyt poppin now. Not tryna see the first linkup in 2035

I think most people have seen enough of the 'Smallville' Superman and are ready to just jump into the deep end and that's where Gunn took us.

Thats the same mistake they made last time. Rushing to get where the MCU was. MCU took its time and built up to it. DC tries to do the same thing in 2 or 3 movies,

No, this is nothing like the MCU.

The first MCU movie (Iron Man 1) had no other heroes or deeper MCU lore attached.

Also, the DCU is supposed to feel like most comic books, where you read one and you're immediately put into the universe with little to no backstory. You just read the comic and go from there.

Anyway, David Corenswet's Superman would DESTROY every live-action Superman in a fight except for Cavill's Superman.

Feat wise he is above Cavill, he escaped an event horizon. Ironically Cavill Superman is one of the weaker ones feat wise.

You would have to purposely ignore context & ignore a director that CLEARLY went out of his way to add depth to an overpowered character, to say it.

I explained in explicit detail why this Superman is a grown ass baby, with added context of the fact that James Gunn is addicted to writing grown ass baby men. All anchored by the daddy issues in all of Gunns projects
