YOU SAYING A WHOLE LOTTA NOTHING.

DP1 DID 1.5 BILLY PERIOD.

SUPERMAN WONT EVEN DO
40% OF THAT.

And you just said a whole bunch of nothing. Deadpool 1 did not make $1.5 billion back in 2016 when it was released. Adjusting for inflation is a trash argument.

Also, for the FINAL TIME, the 2010s were the PEAK of the superhero movie popularity. We don't live in that era anymore. Goddamn.

ONCE AGAIN THE BATMAN REBOOT
JUST DID 772 MILLION
SO YOU HAVE NO LEGS
TO STAND ON.

YOU DIDNT THINK LESS
THAN 600MS FOR THIS MOVIE
WAS A SUCCESS A MONTH AGO

THIS MOVIE HAD RIDICULOUS PROMO
FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2025

Batman is more popular and liked than Superman. A Batman movie outgrossing a Superman movie is not surprising.

I thought the movie would've done a bit better internationally, so I was expecting it to gross at least $700 million. I was wrong, but that doesn't mean that $600 million is not a success.

NO ONE SAID THIS MOVIE SHOULD
DO A BILLY....

DP1 DID $782,837,347
THATS 1.5 B IN 2025

And Batman Begins did similar to Superman both coming off badly received adaptation.

Deadpool is its own trilogy that built up.

That’s what franchises do. It doesn’t matter how they start. The goal is to keep building up momentum

I DIDN'T SEE ANYONE
IN HERE SAY FAILING TO HIT
600MS WOULD STILL BE A GOOD NUMBER
FOR THIS MOVIE A MONTH AGO

1. I dont think anyone saw it hitting VOD so soon.
2. I've always felt that long as it did good critically/WOM, BO doesnt matter. I understood how Snyder shyt soured the Superman/DCU shyt.

Me in may
With the damage Snyderverse did to DCEU or w/e the fukk it's called, 700M would definitely be a win. Superman was probably considered a flop or close to it because it cost 250M and made less than 700M. Generally for a film to break even, it has to make 2.5x it's budget. 250M * 2.5 = 625M. It make 670M. So a superman movie only made 45M in profit AND it was a divisive film. You cant barely breakeven and shyt the bed critically/audience wise as well. What's the saying? Pick a struggle.

If Gunn's Superman breaks even but is critically acclaimed and lays a foundation to launch the other films, WB will be happy.

Me last month
Yes you can say some may be capping in case it underperforms, but some nikkas is putting expectations on this movie that has never been a billion dollar franchise in the modern box office. Yall would have a point if the last superman movies hit a billi or close to it. If this makes 600M, it's a success. If it's 400M, it's a bomb. It has to get good WOM/rave reviews if it bombs.

It's accomplished it's job of laying a foundation imo :manny:

X-men started the superhero boom. Blade if you wanna be honest.:stopitslime:

NAH THE BOOM DIDNT HAPPEN
UNTIL THE AVENGERS BLEW.

WE HAD SUPERHERO MOVIES
BUT THEY WERE ISOLATED
WITHIN THEIR OWN SHELL.

NO DIFFERENT THAN THE
KEATON BATMAN OR REEVES SUPERMAN

BATMAN BEGINS DID MORE
THAN THE FIRST XMEN BTW
