There are other markets that can get you to billy. Black Panther didn't do well with asians either but had the black market.
They need to do a mr Terrific movie instead of trying to shoehorn in asians.

Yeah, it's clear that Asia isn't rocking with Western superhero movies as much anymore.

Shoehorning in Asian actors probably won't make a big difference though. Asians from Asia don't particularly care for or connect with Asians from Western countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia, etc).

For example, the movie Crazy Rich Asians was a big hit among Asians in the West, but most Asians from Asia didn't care about the movie and didn't relate to the story.

For China it's not just that they might not fukk with comic book movies, it's also political. A lot of Hollywood releases only get a few theaters and showtimes, some none at all and some do get a better release. It's all politics.

With that being said, Doomsday and Secret Wars will probably do a billion, but Disney better not have the same expectations outside of that for their remaining MCU properties. First MCU X-Men might do that as well if good.

While both the F4 ('05, '07, '15) and Superman (Returns, MoS, BvS) had just 3 movies apiece in the last 20 years to draw some conclusions/projections about modern popularity and future box office, we've had over a dozen X-movies in that same 20-year stretch as data... some were panned but a fair number were well regarded critically in real time (x1, x2, First Class, DoFP, Logan) with damn near all the most popular story-beats and themes covered in some form or fashion, and all the marquee actors (young, old, oscar winning, sex symbols, etc) and fanboy pandering (Wolverine, Magneto, Xavier) you could hope for...

...and ultimately nobody cared. Well, outside of Deadpool, which is the most not-X-Men spoof character

Yeah, 'Doomsday' will be fine. They'll run a nostalgia playbook for that one, bring in whoever they can for cameos and Downey Jr. is the draw.

'X-Men' is going to be interesting. People have long awaited to see how they'd look in the MCU. Who they pick to be in the team will be intriguing as well. Will the lineup be a classic lineup or will they do the 80s/90s lineup?

I agree. Tho, and I mentioned this in the F4 thread, a near decade ago much of the hype for bringing Spider-Man, the X-Men and the F4 over... was to see them interact with the MCU Avengers. Wolverine fighting the Hulk (the 2012 version, not the retired family man); Militant Scott Summers and Steve Rogers clashing ideologies; Reed, T'Challa, Tony, Beast doing Illuminati shyt. I mean shyt the only storybeats black ppl discussed about an MCU Storm was will she be dark-skinned and will she marry our nygga in Wakanda

So with much of those selling points gone/greatly diminished (and the overall brand taking a hit), i'm skeptical on just how much the general public will actually care about the mcu'ized versions of these same characters and themes that they never cared much about to begin with theatrically. Unless ofc they gon have Deadpool guest appear in each one lol

And to also not fall into that trap of overcompensating to female viewers by making all the male characters low-intellect bytches

Even before the post-End Game era, i was telling people for sure Storm or at worst Jean was going to be the leader of the X-Men, both with the Rey treatment whereas all the men would be varying shades of Finn.

In a sense, you could say that the delay in bringing the mcu x-men to the big screen is the best thing that could've happened, bc it gives Disney a chance to learn from the past 6 years of fukking up.
