Unless NBA viewership goes up drastically i dont see it getting to that level....how can they make more when the viewership is already down going into the next set of TV deals...

That super max extension Giannis going to sign after 2025 :whoo:
UFA at 31 in 2026. 5 year contract, ends up 36 after that one. I'd think he finishes in top 3-5 of total earnings sans injuries.

Luka will be about 26 when this time comes. With the way he plays (and where he plays), you'd think he has two maxes left in him. He should probably finish higher than Giannis

I can't see then tripling it, especially since you know LeBron may have already retired or is about to. Who is the next star that people are going to watch just to see them lose? But I also never thought I would see the days of players getting 40 mil annually and then get traded because they didn't like the way the organization was being handled.

I still don't think the NBA is going to get a TV deal like that.

Turner Sports has money. As does Disney. But Disney has put in A LOT of money on other sports leagues including getting the NHL back.

Turner right now is paying $1.2 billion per year for the NBA which includes operating NBA TV, NBA.com, the All Star Game, and one of the Conference Finals. Disney is paying $1.4 billion per year for exclusive highlights, the NBA Finals, and the NBA Draft.

Even if they both double their current outlays... where is the NBA gonna get another $3 billion per year from?
gambling? They have stuck deals with all these gambling companies and it will be legal probably nationwide in 3-5 years. There's too much money out there that states are leaving on the table and NBA has deals with all the sports books to get a piece of the backend. Also I can see Amazon or Apple giving them a billion for non-ESPN/TNT streaming rights.

NFL players get the bragging rights of most popular sport in the country.

NBA players get paid.

:wow:

NFL players union is a joke:mjcry:

A lot of them will be already suffering the effects of early onset dementia from repeatedly banging their brains against their skulls for a living, which will help them forget about it

I would at least try to get guaranteed contracts. The fact that a sport like that doesnt give players that sense of security is disgusting.

Notice when NFL players get injured and carted off the field, they cry more than when NBA players get injured and carried off. They are scared the are gonna get cut ifthe injury is serious.

Meanwhile, John Wall is owed like 90 million combined next 2 years. They HAVE to pay him no matter what.
