a lil off topic
but athlete salaries sky rocketing over the last two decades really shows the power of a union, even a shytty union like the NFLPA
average american wages have been stagnant over that same time period and min wage has not changed
i think that's partially the reason why people are STILL shocked when new deal details are reported.
You mad at Aaron Gordan being over paid but it's really because your brain is still wired to salaries being set to 2005 standards cause that's what yours is :dead:
These nikkas not overpaid....you just underpaid. The same way the Juwan Howards of the NBA went from making $100M to 200M to soon 300M
the Juwan Howards of your department should have seen equivalent increases in your workplace too but it's not happening
the linear growth of wealth isn't being distributed to common man like it is for people with leverage, like athletes

this is FAX

there's no problem being Jealous of Athlete $$$$... thats natural... these nikkas making $800k a game and shyt:mjlol:. Luka will make $500 mil by 30, Mahomes will make $500 mil in his 30s alone

but despite that, and the biggest PROTESTS since the damn 60s... labor shortage.... people had flush cash for once off a stimmy, plenty of money to start a decent organization....

NO new unions

NO worker movement

Amazon successfully defeated a labor union in Alabama

so :yeshrug:

u would think after IBM threw their pensions in the bushes in the 90s, we would've smartened up. instead we doubled down

Unless NBA viewership goes up drastically i dont see it getting to that level....how can they make more when the viewership is already down going into the next set of TV deals...
Because despite the falling ratings live sports are still a better source of ad revenue than anything else

These deals just highlight how fukked broadcast and cable TV are

FOX Sports is a different division from FOX News, regardless of that, NBA isn’t turning down money from them if they bid hard

Fox doesn't have the money to put in a bid like that. They are likely hoping that a player like Amazon jumps in with a bid so ESPN/TNT won't be negotiating with themselves as they did last time.

Why do you keep on bringing amazon like the NBA doesn’t already have tech deals with Google, Apple & Facebook?

Because those deals have nothing to do with sports broadcasting and the rights to it :mjlol:

It's a completely different topic along with multiple layers involved in it. It's a difference between broadcasting one game a week with football and the number of games a week in an NBA season. Not to mention, you'd actually need to find people to actually call said games as NBA TV doesn't have enough to do so.
