I'm referencing down south, I'm from nyc. So to see nikkas caught up with a pistol and only serve 8 months in county, or even a 1.5 year charge. I be like Damm.. that's crazy. In NY you get hit with mandatory 5 years probation or you do 3 years upstate/ get paroled and serve the rest on parole after doing 1.5 years on a 3 plus year sentence.

No. It's still current bro. They used to have promo on all the trains advertising 3.5 years minimum for illegal gun possession. Look up the current statues and convictions under NYS Penal code.

Everyone knows this. That's why if you carry a gun, you better be about it. It's zero tolerance cuz if you get caught unless you haven't caught a felony. You are going up north 100% for atleast 1.5 years just for carrying

Edit: id go as far as to say that between the 5 Boros & outer Boros of downstate ny Alone I'd estimate 2 out of every 3 people are either unhinged/ran out of fukks to give or on edge.

people are definitely on edge in NYC. people really don't know how easy it is for strangers to get into arguments and cursing matches over some small slight or misunderstanding. throwing guns into the mix is a terrible idea. all it takes is for someone to miss and a bystander will undoubtedly get shot, that can cause a ripple effect of even more gun violence either through revenge or confusion.
