What will conspiracy theorists do when mainstream media gives their stories some shine? On one hand, you cant trust anything from the press. on the other hand...

Like you and other obviously intelligent Americans, we should all wait for CNN to report the "facts" before we create our opinions right?

Saudis, Emiratis, and Qataris being the biggest funders.

"These rich Arabs are like what 'angel investors' are to tech start-ups, except they are interested in starting up groups who want to stir up hatred,...Stavridis and other current U.S. officials suggest that the biggest share of the individual donations supporting ISIS and the most radical groups comes from Qatar rather than Saudi Arabia, and that the Qatari government has done less to stop the flow than its neighbors in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.."

Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia have one of the largest Sunni Muslim percentages in the world, and ISIS is a Sunni group. Ya'll are just trying to create some conspiracy instead of searching for the more plausible connections/answers.

Yes, because the UAE has a lot to gain from illegal oil being sold on the black market and destabilized neighbors :snoop:

I can't believe this is in the NYTimes. Its such a shytty article.

the CIA might have supported the rebels at one time against Assad but to say they led to the formation of ISIS and are actively backing them is the height of stupidity.

I strongly urge you to read what you post before you start with the name calling :heh:

Another one :dead:

Its not a surprise that you all have a lack of reading comprehension in common:heh:

So you weren't trying to talk sh*t? :rudy: Hold this L breh, you want to find out who's behind something, follow the money trail, find out who financially gains from ISIS being in existence and you will find the players involved.

You are slow. I was only pointing out how mainstream media reporting on conspiracy theories is awkward for conspiracy theorists, who tend to not trust anything printed in publications such as the New York Times.

Im shocked I had to explain this. You got brehs in here posting Pete Caroll articles like that had anything to do with what I wrote:scust:Continue on rambling, though. Your point of view is original and refreshing:troll:

Before I get sucked into another pointless debate about the situation, reread my first post in this thread. It is exactly what I said it was: a comment on how conspiracy theorists view the media.

You're playing the semantics game now? The deputy prime minister's accusation was his theory on an ongoing conspiracy. Accusation, conspiracy theory, whatever. The point is the Times is reporting on it.

You're boring:snooze:

The rich citizens who support radicalism would benefit a lot.

"The most important source of ISIS financing to date has been support coming out of the Gulf states, primarily Saudi Arabia but also Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates,"

Like I said before those countries listed above have large Sunni populations and ISIS is a Sunni group.
