the U.S. Always manages to fukk it up, think about this. there is no evidence that the protest were started by the west. everything points to it being organic and probably inspired by the overall Arab Spring.

-at the very beginning, the west was hesitant to support the rebels in any meaningful way
-the ones that began arming them in any real way were Saudi Arabia and other gulf states, but the problem is that they favored Islamists not the moderate rebels
-it could end up being a situation where the only 2 sides left, are The Islamists vs the Government
-the people caught in the middle have to choose which side to support

Middle east isn't that complicated

and it was Peaceful and stable because of the massive empires. Until WW1

After the Ottoman empire collapse France and the UK tried to colonize the Middle East which is what destabilized the fukk outta the region

UK also put the Saudis in power of Arabia as a reward for revolting and betraying the Ottomans by attacking them from within. And we see first hand what those fakkits are doing to this day.

Simplistic narrative of the period where the Ottoman Empire was the dominant power in what is now 'the Middle East'.

I don't have much sympathy for Syrians. We sank a shyt load of money trying to help rebels and everyone ran to Europe complaining they couldn't get visas in the richest countries with the best welfare programs

Look to Africa to see what legit refugee crises look like. Refugees flee violence. Syrians are trying to immigrate. Once the getting got bad their rich and middle class said fukk it and bought a ride out.

There's proof that the USA been funding and training the Syrian opposition since 2006, of you think what happened in Syria was organic I have a bridge to sell you. Most of the Arab Spring was calculated.

The consensus is that it started out of the Arab spring as a simple protest. The government responded with deadly force and the rest is history.

The Arab spring began as protests organized within those countries, along the way maybe the U.S. started helping the protests, but at the very beginning they were organic. you act like the U.S. doesn't make mistakes. the west can be just as incompetent as the third world.

don't forget

-Egypt had been a reliable western ally since the 70s, the U.S. flew a lot of suspected terrorists to Egypt and Syria in order to be tortured and interrogated by the security forces.
-except for Libya, most of the protests at the very beginning don't seem to have been initiated by the U.S.

Russian Naval base that is Russia's only way to deploy ships into the Mediterranean Sea

:wow:
Location, location, location.

If we could get all the countries bordering the oil/mineral ones ... that is usually the end game.

Egypt is the only major one I believe is organic.

So you think Mohamed Bouazizi was paid by the US gov't to set himself on fire? Btw, this event started the Arab Spring

So you think the US Gov't (which relies on the Bahraini Gov't to host their fleet) paid Shi'ites to rebel against a government which provided the US basing rights?
