No reason why this song couldn't be a hit if marketed right

Anyway I like the album a lot. SZA did a better job making a mainstream album without watering down her artistry then Tinashe did imo

@Nutritious Quata' Water this sounds way better than Tinashe :mjpls:. Wonder why you never gave SZA a listen since you like stuff like this? I guess the complexion and hair aren't eye catching. :mjpls:

All i know is...

The Coli needs to learn the difference between sensuality and smut.

Its crazy that as soon as a female artist starts introducing more sexual elements into their profile, they're instantly demonized as sluts/selling sex.

Like....women like to be sexy and like to get fukked too brehs :manny:

Not to mention, female commercial artists are under pressure to CONSTANTLY reinvent themselves. Not only to stay relevant to their aging loyalists, but also to try and catch the newer generation of potential fans. This may come as a shocker but relating to the sexual maturation into womanhood is something women are into. As men Its something we cannot begin to fathom.

We do ourselves no favors of shedding the "we hate women with ANY SEXUAL AGENCY!!!" :birdman: label that hip hop forums have.

Especially since nikkas are quiet as church mice when "Ive been a rapper since i was 11" Lil wayne is rapping about hoping off the boat meeting "Papi "at the dock :martin:

THIS

ive been saying since day one.

tinashe is Christina milan 2.0

she just doesn't have the appeal to black females. she better get into acting, and do the music on the side.

nah, I'm not saying she could be a crossover pop star. I'm not even interested in that, and that's the problem with the industry actually.
most r&b consumers, much like hip-hop consumers have been disenfranchised. the real reason music stopped selling.
beyonce is the top entertainer of the times, but theres tons upon tons of r&b consumers that don't care for what shes selling.
same for rihanna, who isn't an r&b artist to begin with. she just gets pushed into that category now because shes black and theres not much else out there.
and yea, I do blame them breh. at least beyonce, who is notorious for pulling strings behind the curtain. just like her husband.

theres definitely room in the game for a lot more chicks. they don't have to be pop stars.

I havnt heard enough SZA to assess her potential, but she has 1 or 2 songs that should be heating up radio right now.

btw, I only checked her out because of this thread. I never paid her any mind because of the whole TDE thing. just being hyped up by a bunch of guys on the internet who could care less about r&b is an automatic turnoff. that tinashe epidemic in full force.

nah, a lot of the stars of yesteryear had forced personas.

starting all the way at the top of the food chain with whitney Houston.
and apparently Mariah carey as well.

the thing is, there wasn't as much scrutiny on them because there was so much going on. plus, there were less media outlets pulling back the curtain.

Yeah now i see what you are saying. I was just mentioning that since it seemed as if R&B fused with pop.

I can give Rihanna more of a pass because she is still on Roc Nation and i don't know if she is stuck there for a bit or something.

But if she chooses to create her own label with how big her brand is getting.... she better do the right thing

But B like you said seems sneaky. She signed to a regular label like she is some average artist when she could easily leave that and create her own. So that confuses me. Why does she wanna still work for Colombia?

And now that i am checking again...

Both of them DO have their own labels....

Rihanna has "Westbury Road"(Street in Barbados) which is distributive of Roc Nation and Beyonce has Parkwood Entertainment(Street in Houston). B started it in 2007 apparently but it is mainly a management company she uses for motion pictures and commercials :gucci: :dahell:

Parkwood Entertainment - Wikipedia

Why doesn't she use it for actual artists?

So we in 2017 now so this is 10 years.. :snoop:

Rihanna again i give another pass :troll: yes im bias cause i like her more :troll: but apparently her label was just started in 2015..

And she doing shyt like this that you never hear about Beyonce doing:

Clara Lionel Foundation Global Scholarship Program - Scholarships for College

:wow:

But as we get more and more info about this Westbury Road shyt... :camby: she better prove she is the chosen one and does the right thing by signing some of her peers

Would be one of the most beautiful moments for women in the music industry

Bad Girl Gone Good :mjcry:

You definitely right about stars of the past having forced personas also....Isn't it sad how grown ass adults act as if Whitney and Mariah and everyone else was some angels and everyone today are demons? :mjlol: We are all humans but they act as if back then they were saints.

People have confirmed more than once that Whitney was on heavy drugs way before Bobby and Whitney fans will still stay in denial

They will talk about her personality changing and still be in denial when people talk about her always being a real and funny ghetto chick from Newark.. The Wendy Williams interview in 2003 when Whitney was cursing her out was a dead giveaway.

I think even Redman mentioned talking to her and she was a regular hood chick from Newark and they had their own slang :mjlol:

Its so damn sad GROWN ASS ADULTS fall more easily for smoke and mirrors than young people. They have technology and the internet at their disposal and they still drones getting info from CNN and reading magazines

Why would they risk their careers like that ? This isn't rap music breh where you can usurp fans by affiliation and "come up".

Regular women dont even f*ck with each other. Why do you want see artists get Mephis Bleeked ?

It's every b!tch for herself... Better carve a niche like Jhene Aiko and K Michelle and not say nothing when Beyonce and Rihanna take your songs or it's a wrap.

but Beyoncé does have artists...she signed a sister duo named Chloe and Halle and she's been developing them and grooming them for years. do your research

She's not, and her image is contrived and clearly recently-created.
That being said, she'll always have a fanbase with people who like to listen to music to give themselves an image, so she'll be fine.
I don't care about her image at all. I just like her music.

Didn't i say this already breh? I know this about women already being catty

But we are thinking too much about them risking their career doing that.

Both of them are known WORLDWIDE

what is the harm in signing artists under their label?

POP MUSIC is bigger than rap so th Memphis Bleek example is not a good one.

And two pop artists promoting and R&B artist or two would be much bigger than a rap star trying to promote another rap star.
