He fell off because he went to jail and lost his "it" factor on making hit songs. Prison rust did him in, followed by him becoming a reality star. Hard to maintain a "trap muzik" personality on record when we see you're now a square family guy on VH1.
But paper trail was his biggest album and that was after he went to jail, then he tried taking it back to the trap on his next album

I listened to some of ti newer stuff and it isnt that bad..

It dosent give me the same "rush" as his prime stuff, but its solid material
Yeah I made my comment because a few years ago late at night while out in DC, I took a train and had to transfer at Gallery Place/chinatown. And while there I see all these middle age white dudes with their 10-16 year old sons on the train which is strange because it's a Saturday at like 11pm. Then I see a poster and some big old time rockband (I forget which one) had a show at Capital One Arena that night. shyt made me feel a way because I'm like rap is the biggest music genre in the world and has been for quite some time now. Yet, 30 years from now what rapper that debuted 30 years prior would be able to sell out an Arena show like this old ass rock band is doing? Probably none...maybe Drake, but I don't even think he will, ppl are just waiting on his "downfall". Mind you rock has "fallen off" completely as a genre yet their legends can sell out ARENAS today. How many rap legends can even do an amphitheater right now let alone an arena? Probably none if you exclude Em and Jay

he fell off because he went to prison at the height of his popularity then dropped a subpar album when he got out.

nothing more, nothing less.
This is pretty much it. He didn't get to ride off the greatness of Paper Trail cause of the jail time. But the smart thing him and the label could have done was release an album the year after Paper Trail while he was serving his first sentence. Cause after he got out he didn't have time to promote or make a cohesive album especially since he got arrested again in 2010.

Nas can do amphitheaters and so can Wu-Tang (as a group)

No he fell off because the music he put out after he got out of jail was lackluster. Then he got in trouble with the law AGAIN and had to spent almost another year in jail. Him dropping No Mercy also didn't do him any favors either.

No T.I. “Fell off” because that’s literally what happens to 99% of rappers and musicians. Trap Muzick came out in 2003. Was he expected to still be “on” 15+ years later. And pop success is the quickest way to fall off because it’s the hardest to replicate.

Katy Perry is in that exact same situation right now.

Rappers have to maintain their mystique, especially a gangsta ass rapper like TI was...you can't show him in his element eating cereal and dancing and being silly with his kids and friends and shyt, lol. That reality show is what messed him up, imo, it's fukked up that it's like that but that's what it is in rap. IG is enough, fans don't need too much access to your real life, keep selling them the package/gimmick

Just keeping it real. TI should be thankful that he had a long career. He was able to bounce back so many times when he should have been finished eons agos.
.
Its that TI had his time and thats that. He just needs to continue to branch into different avenues such as the podcast shyt hes doing.
