He fell off because he went to jail and lost his "it" factor on making hit songs. Prison rust did him in, followed by him becoming a reality star. Hard to maintain a "trap muzik" personality on record when we see you're now a square family guy on VH1.

I've seen teenagers with rolling stones and led zeppelin shirts on before. The problem is rap is too trendy, but with streaming it's starting to change. Catalog is becoming more important than being relevant. 50 gets more streams on spotify than a lot of new rappers.

Tip stumbled for the same reason Beans did, and so many others: you want the treasure over the horizon, but refuse to move your feet from where you currently are.

ehh

T.I. fell off like 13 years ago when he dropped that "TI vs TIP" bullchit.

he had his biggest selling album after that with "paper trail" but the legs werent sturdy. most of his real core audience had already moved on before that.

Paper trail was his biggest album, he should of stayed in that lane and never looked back. But he's been trying so hard to maintain his street image and going on anti snitch campaigns instead of trying to make Hits. Idk why rappers run from pop success instead of embracing it. Anyone else agree?

no we dont agree with the bolded.

chasing pop success is a death sentence. at least back when hip-hop actually meant something

when it was realized he did not write his own records.
so the listener has no real upside to listening to said rap artists material. The Same thing that happens with every ghost written artist.
who had the benefit of using another artist's rubrick and never really developing their own skilset/rubrick.
that is as advanced.
or on par with improving.
in the manner of the ghost written past material.
