Punchlines isnt writing. And your logic is trash. Thats like calling a boxer the better boxer because he won the fight. No. he was the better boxer THAT night. Luda won the beef because of that particular line and how clever it was. Nothing more nothing less. You clearly dont how this shyt works so I wont argue with you about it. And you talking about the diss, T.I. literally outraged and outraged Luda on all 3 songs they collabed on.

To have good punchlines, you have to be a good writer :skip:

Punchlines, double entendres, similies, metaphors, wordplay, and storytelling are all elements of writing

So saying someone is a punchline rapper, wordsmith, or storyteller is all the same shyt

And yes, a boxer beating another boxer makes him the better boxer :heh:

Type of dumb shyt is that to say :dead:

If he so good, why is he getting his ass whooped. You better but you the one laid out and bleeding out :laff:

Most people would agree that Ludacris is more lyrical than T.I.

You're the first I've seen imply the opposite

I will say, luda being more animated and over the top does make ti seem like a more "serious" type of rapper

Luda is in the same category as busta, e 40, and redman. For some reason, comical rappers don't get respected as much even though they have bars :manny:

Only the white boy has been able to escape the stigma and get constantly included in top five discussions :mjpls:

Classic...

This album is basically a soundtrack of my life from my teens thru my early 20s. This is me, it's literally a movie of my life. No one album resonates more with a period of my life than Trap Muzik, though I have parallels on other albums. And I've always felt like Tip is probably the one artist with the closest street correlation to my own background...

I sold plenty of drugs, was never rich off it, never one of the biggest ballers from my side but always had "something". Been to prison, in and outta jail but never did a long bid. Got in plenty of shooting situations, never been shot myself. Grew up in different areas from where I got active at. I'd bet money Tip's street history and mine are almost perfectly correlated...

Abd it starts and ends with this album. I was 14 when this dropped, I think I got the album from one of my friends, I played it a few times and tossed it. Wasn't really my thing at the time though I did like Tip...

I didn't really go back and listen to this until the mid-2010s, I'm in my mid-20s, that's when I felt like "damn this is me 17-25"...

Classic...

To hit some other points in this thread:

•Tip is an underrated legend, part of it is on him because of both his antics thru the years, and also the quality of most of his music is weak...

He doesn't have any classic material aside from Trap Muzik and Urban Legend and you can debate both because neither are undeniable. Trap Muzik isn't him at his peak lyricism and Urban Legend is bloated with too many throwaway tracks. But both are close enough to be considered "borderline" classics, I consider them his two classics. And he deserves his flowers from them, they are two great albums...

He also isn't, but should be, considered a pioneer of "trap" as a subgenre...

•he couldn't beat 50 in a Vz but let Mr be clear, I'm definitely of the opinion Fif is overrated on this board and the quality of his music is not nearly as dope as he gets lauded on here. Fif's biggest records are bigger and he wins a popularity contest over Tip anyway...

But as artists period, take away the Vz format, 50 edges Tip but I don't think there's a major gap...

Since 50 was brought into this thread its worth mentioning, again, that 50 is bigger and a more popular figure than a bunch of people he isn't actually a better rapper than---->Rozay being one of them. Full transparency, I may be the only Ross Stan on the board...

I've procrastinated for years making an in depth Rozay appreciation thread, need to do it while I have time this weekend. He's a significantly better artist than 50, an underrated guy who should be on everyone's Top 25 and that's a generous estimate...

I prefer Tip over 50; I "like" 50 but I think he's overrated; I think 50 would win a head up with Tip; but Ross is a resoundingly better rapper than both...

•The Luda/Tip beef wasn't even a major thing but in terms of who "won", give it to Luda for the "Stomp" verse. That's what we felt at the time anyway...

•Tip's 2000s run from Trap Muzik thru Paper Trail is a 5-6 year run that's more than respectable. He was at his peak and while never "the" biggest he was consistently one of the hottest rappers alive and helped float hip hop during a period of not great music. He deserves his flowers for that!

No. No. No. No. No. No. Hes a better showman than Tip, but he isnt the better rapper or writer. At all.
