That's not what Jay said though. Jay said Nas ONLY hot album was Illmatic. A lot of media critics and "real hip hop" snobs said he sold out with IWW, I Am and Nastradamus and Jay leaned into that fabrication...which is ironic because Jay went in the same commercial direction as Nas if not even more commercial. For some reason he never got the same accusations of selling out, but that's probably because Illmatic was so highly regarded.

And in them doing that, they were hunting to get pics on him. I doubt Ashanti came to them on some "I got pics of Prodigy as a child" shyt. They had to have talked her into getting them.

You tellin me with a straight face Jay and Irv didn't scheme to get an up and coming R&B singer who had nothing to do with the shyt besides she used to go P's grandma's school to get the pics?
