Talking police reform with a cop

IEdit: one thing I will say in police defense is that they are asked to fix too many ills in society that they are not equipped to do. Police shouldn't have to be law enforcement.. mental health professionals ,child psychologists etc etc

***ding, ding, ding*** correct, police are overused and used in the wrong way in our society.... it is, however, a reflection of how society doesn't really care about solving issues, but just wants "problem" people dealt with.....

many people believe it should be 0... and im trying to understand why? what is that based on?

no one is saying killings by cops should be zero, just like no one is saying that crime should be nonexistent... everyone knows there are going to be criminals and bad cops.... it's a part of the human condition... what people are upset about is that when a criminal is identified they are dealt with, which is good, but when a bad cop is identified, they are not.... it is the lack of justice..... cacs like to duck behind a lame argument like black people kill other blacks all the time but no one riots... here's why, when a black kills another black they are arrested and convicted and sent to jail..... when a pasty ass cac kills a black person they are called a hero, get to set up a gofundme page and rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars, all while bathing in the adulation of other envious cacs... see the difference...............?

So im talking with my neighbor(who is a white cop) about police reform today and he made some good arguments... figured I'd share an interesting one.


2-3 people are killed by police everyday, every year... most of whom are white, but its not even obvious that that's a bad number considering there are 300+ million. What is the expectation? what is an acceptable number? 0-1 a day? why? based on what?
Where does the idea that all the crime in a giant ass country should result in people never being killed come from?
...he also says not resisting arrest in would likely cut the number of deaths in half, but its easier to blame the officer than it is the person creating the hostile and/or unsafe situation.

Did you ask him why their body cams seems to not work right when something suspicious happens

Did you ask him why their or so many instances of them saying something in a report or in a statement but then video evidence comes out that contradicts their reports

I worked for a police department for three years as a student police aide. Let me say this. It ain't anecdotal to say most, if not all police departments are rampant with racism and anti black sentiment. The black cops don't do shyt about it. Most are hardcore or soft shoe c00ns. Facts. If you don't know this then you don't know shyt about police. The stories I could tell....about everyday interactions that won't even make the local news is reprehensible. Anyone caping for cops is a c00n period. And I have family members high up in the Baltimore PD. When I see them (mostly at family functions) they don't say shyt because they know I got facts on their bullshyt.

Trump won a little under half the votes cast but many police department are like 60+ % trump voters. We've basically allowed white supremacists / right wing to build an occupying army in our neighborhoods.. with our tax dollars.

The fact that the cop reacted so defensively and used general numbers and phrased loss of life in terms of "acceptable losses" is disgusting, and reveals that he doesn't view suspects in human terms. He is not to be trusted.
