If target was smart they would have never publicly did anything DEI...you can have internal policies that promote diversity without ever calling it out. Some other companies have done that without any issues.

Also why aren't black folk boycotting Facebook or IG?
Same reason why we work for any company ran by white men....

We don't have our own.

I hate the logic that you cant start small as criticism it's so stupid and a dumb deflection. I think Walmart should be boycotted next due the dei and the fact that they create food deserts
Not going to happen due to the cheap prices compared to other competitors and the fact that it's literally the only grocery store for a lot of people.

The point is valid though in the case of social media as people continue to use it for joking and personal use while being hypocritical about other aspects.

That's why it should be boycotted it has created food deserts by lowering prices, in fact this should be pushed at a city wide level

Social media is helpful with organizing, we already dont have regular media

Are the boycotts working or is this due to tariffs? :patrice:
Don’t forget Amazon. The single biggest factor.

Amazon got the ball rolling on all these stores a long time ago.

Amazon wasn’t going strong like it is now back in 2014 when he started as CEO. Now people even buy fashion items on Amazon which put the finishing touches on many malls.

shyt, compare Amazon’s stock price around 2014 to today.

Amazon stock price 2008: $4.00
Amazon stock price 2013: $14.00
Amazon stock price today: $223.00

After the pandemic especially people realized they needed in-store less. It’s wack because look what has happened to this country in part due to Jeff Bezos’s assistance.

More and more people do their grocery shopping now on Amazon as well believe it or not.

It’s been especially great for people who don’t know how to select fresh items or want to go through the trouble. The Amazon grocer does that for them.

Amazon is siphoning major and small brick and mortar businesses more and more.

I agree with this but I will say this boycott Target shyt is just being amplified online. My local Target stores have plenty of black people as they normally do

Target was also at the Essence festival and black people were going there as usual

That's not feasible for a lot part of the country especially those that live in small towns and rural areas along with the elderly.

Walmart is still the main option for a lot of those people.

That's because the internet and social media only speak to a small amount of people compared to the world.

I think people tend to forget that sometime as there are some that don't even know nor care about the boycott.

In due time, as mentioned in areas with an Amazon market it’s been draining grocery stores’ revenues.

The convenience is crazy vs spending hours of the week.

Breh we got all these black millionaires and billionaires and not one of them started a version of Amazon that sells 90% black owned consumer goods and products.

"We" are Negropeans.
