No it was a good strategic idea from a business standpoint. They took a gamble that repercussions from a hostile federal administration would be worse for a company that engages in a lot of interstate commerce, than a temporary loss of sales from the liberal contingent.

We have seen what Trump has done to those universities and the law firms. And arguably he could strangle the entire companny, if Target decided to spearhead a resistance.

As we speak Costco is engaged in costly litigation in 19 states for doing exactly that. And the federal DOJ is looking for anything to trip them up also.
Y'all dumb ass crackas say the stupidest shyt.

"it was a good strategic idea" :mjlol: :dead:

And other dumb mafukkas talking like this isn't fully because of the boycotts are other dumb mafukkas.

100% this.

White women are the biggest demographic in America AND the biggest beneficiary of DEI.

The trashy, soda with ketchup & sketti white women still go to Walmart like they always have.

The middle class/upper middle class white women with college degrees, Lexus RX 350's and nice yoga pants (at least in Dallas), shop at Target. They probably doing more Trader Joe's and Costco shopping now.

Then sistas and brehs tend to stay on code anyway. The types of Blacks that regularly shop at Target, are the ones to boycott. The nikkas that hit up Walmart will keep hitting on Walmart.

Nope. Never that.

That's the ol' blame the black guy tactic. Aka hot potato. Target has already been failing. They are going to continue to fail, and being as they're at a low they'll hire a black CEO, then as it continues to fail say "see! That's why you don't have a black ceo!"

Same thing when cities start to fall then all of a sudden you get a black mayor...and it continues to fall and it's "that's what you get when you have a black mayor"

Or police departments and fire departments fail, get sued, have recruitment issues, then they hire a black chief, and settle the suits, still have issues with recruitment and it's "the black chief is doing a terrible job!"

They won't remember who was there when the walls started crumbling but they'll know who was there when they fell.
Happens in football.

Black coach gets the job and he drags the team from trash to decent.....but they don't invest in a top QB or real elite offensive talent.

Get the team to competitive status and then hire a young white OC and give him all the tools he wants.

Costco’s stock is booming. I assume they predict that alienating a vast swathe of your costumer base is not beneficial long term when very unlikely Trumpism lasts past his life.

Targets name may never recover.

It’s awfully shortsighted to think that. Maybe you think it’s those specific boycotts but many of their regular shoppers walked away shortly after they abandoned those programs. This was before any formal boycotts.

Personally I was at Target multiple times a week and haven’t been since January or so.
i don't think either of those boycotts had any real sustained effect.
I mean ever Bud Light while not the number 1 selling beer has regained sales.

I got a baby so Target and Amazon have remained staples. But beyond tariffs and DEI, Target has made it incredibly hard/annoying to shop in-store with the amount of shyt locked up, and out here, taking away self checkout in many locations. I do order pickup which is great for me, because I no longer make impulse purchases - another thing lower sales for target. You’re supposed to go there for paper towels, laundry detergent, and sparkling water and walk out with that stuff plus 3 candles, a new workout outfit and water bottle, and some trail mix you didn’t need.

That's why it should be boycotted it has created food deserts by lowering prices, in fact this should be pushed at a city wide level

Social media is helpful with organizing, we already dont have regular media

You want poor black people to boycott their most affordable option when it comes to food and other goods?

Target has decent men’s clothes for cheap. fukk that CEO replace him with a black one as chefs kiss.
This. I really be fw those Goodfellow & Co. tees (they’re better than polo tees). And I even fell back from that. And anyone who knows me, knows I don’t play w/ my white tees, so this was a big move for me.

Man those things would hold me down. I wouldn’t even pack tees for vacations. Just drop into Target when I land.

Walmart is a negative for poor black people, in fact its the reason we only have few options. We are arguing two different things. You want less options in a 1 mile radius I want more. The Walmarts and dollar stores have ruined quality food options for most blacks

i don't think it is shortsighted.
Many of their regular shoppers did not walk away from the boycotts.
They were dropping customers year over year before the boycott.
You can't take annecdotal evidence of just yourself and try to think its national.

Target has been in decline for 4 years.
They can't sell as a mid - upper level brand, but have stores with the same detail as Walmart.
Ulta is leaving them, everyone is leaving a sinking ship
TJ max has better growth over the last 4 years.

Haven’t been since the DEI thing.

Anybody saying it hasn’t had an effect is lying to themselves. There have been reports showing that it has. Of course some black people will still go. Many haven’t.

Target stock was dropping before the DEI incident…. The alleged boycott may have expedited the issue
