Above the fray.

If you can't help a politician get or stay in office, he/she doesn't have to pay attention to you or your interests. PERIOD.
Voting blocs deliver votes & lobby groups/private donors contribute dollars to political campaigns.....Anything else is just a bunch of tongue flapping, running around in circles, and "hoping" politicians support your interests.

I think we all learned this in middle school.

He has sponsored many pro-Black bills in the House. John Lewis
a few
-reopened the Emmitt Till case and other cold cases from the civil rights era. H.R.5067 - 114th Congress (2015-2016): Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crimes Reauthorization Act of 2016
-Voter Empowerment Act
-Introduced the original bill that would become the National Museum of Black Culture (whatever its called) today
-Boycotted Bush in the 2000's and Trump

Its one thing to disagree with a mans politics but don't act like he and other black Congressional members have not put in considerable work. He was elected to Congress while Dixiecrats were still in office, and got Julian Bond's soft-shoe ass the fukk up out of there.

Atlanta politics.... Do you really want another politician? At this point its basically popularity contests. These talking heads need to stop living in fantasy worlds. John Lewis did more in 1963 than this Nintendo 64 cartridge lineup ass nikka has in his whole life.
He was also part of that Congressional Black Caucus demand to get that Flint water money when the Republicans in the House were trying to jam in their bill to fund the government. They said they wouldn't vote on that bill unless they got the water money. They ended up getting their money.

These dudes don't like to be confronted with facts. They either go quiet, say one ignorant line or repeat talking points from some youtube idiot. They don't have the mental capacity to rationally debate.

There will never be a "Black agenda" -- because "Black" now in America -- has different agenda's - due to different classes and ethnicities with in the now catch-all "Black" term.

We don't have similar wants and needs.

If he pushes for reparations - or better Black neighborhoods -- then immigrants and whites will be mad. If he is anti- illegal immigration -- he will be labeled "xenophobic" by non-AA.

No one can win -- cause Black isn't the "Black" it used to be.

:ehh: This make sense. I can only see a black agenda working on local level where there's a majority black population.

Obviously YOU dont know how politics work. No your gov't doesnt print money. That would be the privately controlled Federal Reserve which is NOT under gov't control. Thats 1.
:bryan:You really believe that??? :snoop:

2, you guys go and actionize people to vote for cacs but why not actionize black people to gather in one room and discuss the problems in their community? Why not actionize black scientists, doctors, engineers, plumbers, lawyers, electricians etc... to come into one room and discuss buying up land for the black community and building it up? Or rebuilding their own communities? All this twitter talk and its always coming down to having a hand out to cacs who will only give crumbs if not nothing at all or worse, poison.
I AM LITERALLY DOING THAT RIGHT NOW. :umad:

Well than that's slightly different then not voting at all.

I still disagree with that approach because the stakes are too high. But I understand the frustration.

At the end of the day money is the currency of power. Voting alone doesn't work. These politicians respond to financial influence.

This is a game we still don't collectively know how to play in 2018.

He just doesn’t want the Democratic party to take Black people for granted anymore by automatically expecting our vote without giving results.

There will never be a "Black agenda" -- because "Black" now in America -- has different agenda's - due to different classes and ethnicities with in the now catch-all "Black" term.

If they can have an immigration and LBGTQ agenda they surely can have a Black agenda.

I voted in a COLI thread saying Trump would be better for BLACK AMERICA than Hilary and im right. Black folk have never been more woke than they've ever been since perhaps the civil rights movement.

Hilary is a fukking white supremacist that has tortured and disenfranchised blacks here in america AND abroad, yet your stupid ass probably thinks she's better for blacks than Trump.

Newsflask, HILARY IS A fukkING WHITE SUPREMACIST, like trump. The difference is Hilary is fukking GLOBALIST and a demonic, evil bytch hell bent on world domination. Democrats should have done the right thing and nominate Elizabeth Warren last election cycle, but the Dems are morons and will never do the right thing.

Yes I believe the truth. Do you?

"The Federal Reserve Banks are not a part of the federal government, but they exist because of an act of Congress."

Who Owns the Federal Reserve Banks | In Plain English | St. Louis Fed

Or:

"Although an instrument of the US Government, the Federal Reserve System considers itself "an independent central bank because its monetary policy decisions do not have to be approved by the President or anyone else in the executive or legislative branches of government, it does not receive funding appropriated by the Congress, and the terms of the members of the board of governors span multiple presidential and congressional terms."[24]"

Federal Reserve - Wikipedia

Just admit you was wrong and keep it moving :coffee:

I AM LITERALLY DOING THAT RIGHT NOW. :umad:

These internet nikkas, I swear... :heh:

And I assume theres (no) documentation for what you're doing? :coffee:

Even if you are doing it, thats great. Im speaking about these online twitter activists that want to talk about voting all day but not talk about actionizing black people to unify and come up with solutions to their problems themselves.

And it hasn't been really beneficial...

CBC hasn't even backed and pushed the Reparation study Bill.

Engagement: Since 1971, Members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) have been the “Conscience of the Congress,” uplifting the voices of the voiceless and fighting for the most vulnerable among us. The CBC collectively represents 78 million Americans, including 17 million African Americans, many of whom are concerned about how the Trump Administration will impact their daily lives. The CBC is working every day to uplift these concerns and hold both Congress and this Administration accountable. On the Hill, the CBC is hosting briefings, forums, and roundtables to provide a platform for the issues most important in our communities. Off the Hill, CBC is engaging people where they are by hosting events outside the beltway that address problems in our communities and bring resources that make them better places to live and work. Whether on or off the Hill, the CBC will prioritize outreach to marginalized communities by:

  • Engaging communities in constructive dialogue;
  • Informing citizens of how they are impacted by actions, and inactions, in Congress and the Trump Administration; and
  • Mobilizing the next generation of Black Leaders.
Equity: The Constitution guarantees every man, woman, and child equal protection under the law, but those civil liberties have never applied to all Americans equally. While we have come a long way, African Americans continue to face racist and discriminatory policies and institutions that result in disparities across almost every facet of life, from access to quality affordable health care and education, to police brutality and voter suppression. The CBC will continue its decades-long mission of forming a more perfect union by fighting for equality and justice for all Americans by:
  • Fighting to expand access to the ballot through initiatives like automatic voter registration and early voting;
  • Reforming the criminal justice system from end-to-end, from de-escalation training for law enforcement officers and banning private prisons, to fully funding the Second Chance Act;
  • Investing in and defending the public education system to ensure every child has access to quality education;
  • Supporting our Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Predominantly Black Institutions; Expanding access to affordable higher education by providing year-round Pell Grants, reducing student loan interest rates, and providing two years of free tuition at certain institutions of higher education;
  • Preserving the Affordable Care Act to ensure millions of Americans retain access to affordable, quality healthcare, and retaining investments in minority health clinics to combat health disparities; and
  • Protecting the Environmental Protection Agency to ensure all Americans have equal access to clean air, water, and land.
Economic Empowerment: The CBC is committed to advancing Black families in the 21st Century. To do so, we must address the economic disparities that have plagued our communities for generations and create opportunities that lift all Americans out of poverty and into the middle class and beyond. Unfortunately, the racial wage and wealth gaps in America are worsening. That is why the CBC supports policies that strengthen protections for workers and expand Black entrepreneurship and business development. Investing in economic development benefits entrepreneurs and workers alike, as well as communities at large. The CBC will continue to fight for economic justice for disadvantaged businesses and the workers they employ by:
  • Advancing tax reform that provides relief for middle-class families and small businesses while asking the richest of the rich to pay their fair share;
  • Rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure to ensure long-term economic competitiveness for all communities, including modernizing schools, expanding broadband, and providing summer and year round jobs for Opportunity Youth;
  • Preserving programs that support minority businesses, like the Community Development Block Grant Program and the Minority Business Development Agency;
  • Expanding access to capital by advancing FinTech initiatives, bolstering mission-driven lending options, like Community Development Financial Institutions, and providing regulatory relief for minority depository institutions;
  • Preparing Americans for the work of the future through workforce development programs that anticipate the demands of a 21st Century economy; and
  • Strengthening labor protections that help put more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans, like increasing the minimum wage and expanding overtime protections.

The problem is John Lewis uses his Civil Rights struggle as a trojan horse for non-black issues. Yvette Carnell is hell on the John Lewis types also.

Why wasn't John Lewis marching in the 80s when crack hit or in the 90s when the crime bill passed. Alot of the mis leadership class act like our communities stopped being targeted when when MLK was murdered by the government.
