Here is the thing. You didn't even need to vote for Hillary. But now trump has the majority of house and senate. You could have at least voted for senate. But now there is no brakes on the train
Between Wisconsin, Michigan, and PA she lost all three combined by 120k+ votes. This was very much an election where your vote matters in those states.

I admit decent arguments can be made for not voting for either Queen Hillary or Trump but not choosing your local and city reps just doesn't make sense..those are the people who will decide how much tax you pay,where your kid goes to school,how the potholes outside will get fixed and so on...a direct impact on your life

For the most part I actually agree. I won't hate on the brotha making money but the knowledge he talks about is in the books for anyone to read. But some people need leaders, some people also need his social commentary on certain things. Again, he does a lot of humanitarian work and guys like him, boyce, umar, and others teach self empowerment. My only problem is once I listen to a lecture or two, I don't need to keep going back to that. I understood systemic white supremacy when I was a pre teen given the people who brought me up.
The problem I have with people dissing Tariq, boyce, or others is I go to vegas a lot and other places and see all kinds of white women and men hosting $79.99 meet and greets, selling books about financial empowerment and all kinds of things. So if those brothas want to capitalize in the same market I say let 'em cook. It doesn't make what they're doing fake, but they have carved out a niche the same way as their white counterparts selling a message.
Personally I'm my own man, I don't believe in becoming enamored with any "leader", I don't care if it's a preacher or some civil militant. I just hope their hearts are in the right place and all of the money they make from selling merchandise and seminars they use it to help those really in need.

Spreading the idea of government having no ability to help minorities is actually a tool of the Republican party. They go out and actively make it a self fulfilling prophecy by looking to sabotage Democrats in government, cut taxes to limit gov't ability to help citizens, and engage in wasteful spending through crony capitalism with the little remaining revenue. This ensures that government looks incompetent and they point the finger right at the Democrats and their minority bases. In Trump's case, he was able to successfully point the finger directly at Mexicans and Muslims to the point where he even got the more well off Mexic00ns to vote for him.
