I finally listened to the podcast and he made a good point. Trump is being put out there as a scare tactic. No way is he becoming president. But if he does, fukk it. Dems should have appreciated the black vote more.

It's one of the first movements he had that I agree with. Most of his movements are short term types outside of his documentaries and I don't really fukk with it but I fukk with this.

Tariq is out in California where this is plausible. California is fairly liberal and is already playing by its own rules when it comes to policy. This is a bad idea for those of us who live in the south especially this year. The end result would be mass down ticket victories for white nationalist who have ridden Trump's coattails. Our problem is that once the voting ends, we go back to our daily lives and don't remain engaged politically. We think our representatives will just do right by us. The conservative right made the same mistake. Their "leaders" aren't out here talking about not voting, they are going to vote en masse for Trump/Cruz and if they don't win, they are probably going to start shooting.

The issue, in some states, they have local elections on the same day as the Presidential and you need to participate and vote in those but the state and national campaigns are higher power ran. Good luck. Ain't nobody thinking about us, just the power makers

I actually disagree with tariq I think black people should vote for either the dem or rep

If you're really principled about the matter, you can cast your vote for third party that represents you. However, I don't see what not voting accomplishes. Not voting is pretty much removing yourself from sight as it relates to any political impact. No one is going to view it as a form of protest. They'll just view you as a non-existent party.

People who are actually having an effect on your community are not telling people to not vote. They're trying to PREVENT you from voting and will move heaven and earth to get their target group to the polls.

Also there is an overemphasis in the black community on national presidential elections. You need to go to the polls to vote locally which REALLY has an effect on your day to day life more so than national elections. You also need to go to the less publicized elections in between. The problem is we don't vote ENOUGH and only are focused on it every 4 instead of 2 years.

Really don't understand the worship of Tariq. He isn't some intellectual giant to say the least. What a stupid "campaign". Voting every four years isn't just voting for president, there are other people on the ballot. Write in Optimus Prime for President at least and seriously study the rest of your ballot.

If you don't vote, then don't complain when you get school boards for example that are working to remove slavery from history books or judges that have a hardon for locking black people up.
