Isaiah talked a lot about alcoholism and how it related to his entire family, never really heard a rapper tackle it so heavily, closest thing to it was Swimming Pools I feel like it.

lyricism for me is the content, flow, wordplay and cleverness of metaphors/similies/punchlines.
that's the simplest way for me to put it

perhaps most importantly its the ability to stay on a topic as well. For Isaiah Rashad, there are many times he'll rap something...and then say one line after that rhymes but doesnt make sense on its own or relative to the previous line

Top dawgs ego has hurt them a bit for sure. Dude could've capitalized on the hype early on a lot better. At the same time TDE isnt a major label so to expect some huge shyt isnt realistic either. Kendrick and Q naturally gets the push since they're with interscope.
